Not many would have given the Sporting Alfas a chance of getting even three quarters of the target of 159, let alone chasing it down. The Alfas didn't help their own cause by putting up 20 in the powerplay. But then began an onslaught from Jack Perman, one that gave the Alfas a brief ray of hope. Perman was starting to match the efforts of Ahmad Nabi from earlier, slogging and dispatching almost everything that came his way into the banks.

Despite the incessant slogging, Sporting Alfas were well behind the 8-ball, needing 98 off the last 5. The fact that Perman spend the majority of the following couple of overs at the non-striker's end further hampered any hopes of them getting close. By the time Perman got the strike back, it was far too late. Perman kept going, though, and got the total close to a 100 all by himself.

The Spanish opener's hopes of a three-figure score was then diminished as he was dismissed by the most brutal yorker from Wahid Abdul, one that floored him completely. Lying on the floor, he watched the umpire's finger go up in despair. Atif Mehmood came in and wielded his willow to good effect, entering himself into the highlights package and ensuring that it wasn't just a Jack Perman reel. Thanks to Mehmood's knock at the end, the Sporting Alfas were able to limit damage to their required rate quite a bit. Dreux take the game by 36 runs eventually, and climb up the table.
