We have come to end of our coverage for this encounter. The semi finals will be played on 26th with the final slated to be played on Sunday (28th). Sri Lanka looks a strong unit and will be a difficult unit to beat. Thailand have a lot to ponder on if they are to compete against these top quality sides. Keep following Sportskeeda for all the latest sporting actions but for now this is me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off also on behalf of my fellow commentator Pradeep Somasekhar. Goodnight!
Chamari Athapaththu is the Player of the Match! Here's what she has to say: I'm enjoying my cricket every time in the middle, not taking too much risk and playing my natural game. See the ball, hit the ball, simple theory. I enjoy hitting sixes, I worked hard in the nets with the power hitting, continue in the middle. Actually I was thinking about winning the game, wasn't thinking about personal milestones. We have to take one game at a time, next game semi-final, taking the game seriously and don't want to take too much pressure.
Thipatcha Putthawong (Thailand captain): It's been a wonderful journey, especially we get to such big sides and young side like us, it helps a lot for us. It's her first experience as a captain, lots of learning from the big teams and have to follow that if we are to become a better team. Wonderful memories we will be taking, great hospitality. Will work on batting, bowling and fielding and come back harder.
Sri Lanka Women won by 10 wickets (with 49 deliveries to spare)
Buoy oh buoy, another stunning all round performance from Sri Lankan Women as they qualified for the semi final without dropping a single match so far. The target of 94 was never gonna challenge Sri Lanka who has batted superbly in the tournament and it turned out exactly in the manner they would have hoped for.
Chamari Athapaththu and Vishmi Gunaratne took their time initially and nudged it around for singles in the first three overs. The Thailand bowlers started well by not conceding too many runs but Athapaththu started flexing her muscles from the fourth over where she smashed a four and a six to get things rolling. Gunaratne then took the onus on herself by smacking a couple of boundaries herself in the next over.
Three tight overs from Thailand followed but it was carnage after that. Both the batters kept chancing their arms one after the other and it came off brilliantly. 19 runs came off the 9th over which included a six each from the two batters and a beautiful glide from Vishmi Gunaratne.
Phannita Maya was then pummeled for a six and a four to take things closer before an anti climatic end to the match. Athapaththu was batting on 49 when she decided to take the bye run and register a 10 wicket victory with more than 8 overs to spare.
11.3 Phannita Maya to Chamari Atapattu, TEN WICKET THUMPING WIN FOR SRI LANKA! Sri Lanka are through to the semi-finals along with Bangladesh from Group B, they will be playing Pakistan in the second semi-final with that. Bit of an anti-climatic finish in the end. Back of a length, well outside the off-stump, Atapattu reaches to cut but misses. Keeper let's it through and they get the bye.
11.2 Phannita Maya to Chamari Atapattu, back of a length on the off-stump, Atapattu slams it down to long-on, fielder fumbles twice and allows them to get back to second. Scores are level now!
11.1 Phannita Maya to Vishmi Rajapaksha Gunaratne, length delivery on the stumps, walks down the wicket to finish it with a biggie but miscued it to long-on, falls safely and gets just one.
End of what should be the penultimate over of the match. Vishmi Gunaratne forging the strike but she might have to give the strike back to Athapaththu as she is just three runs away from scoring a half century.

10.6 Suleeporn Laomi to Vishmi Rajapaksha Gunaratne, good length outside the off-stump, Gunaratne walks across off-stump and paddle sweeps it to fine-leg for one.
10.5 Suleeporn Laomi to Chamari Atapattu, OH DEAR! Cries of catch it, but falls in no man's land. That was a leg-break, short and spinning into the batter. Atapattu looks to pull but top edged it around square-leg, fielder runs across from backward square-leg but doesn't get to it in time.
10.4 Suleeporn Laomi to Chamari Atapattu, OH! Short outside the off-stump, Atapattu reaches to cut but that whiskers past the outside edge to the keeper.
10.3 Suleeporn Laomi to Vishmi Rajapaksha Gunaratne, too short outside the off-stump, Gunaratne waits and slapped it to deep covers for one.
10.2 Suleeporn Laomi to Vishmi Rajapaksha Gunaratne, length delivery but spinning down the leg-side. Gunaratne goes back to play but misses, kisses the pad past the keeper and they come back for a couple of leg-byes.
10.1 Suleeporn Laomi to Vishmi Rajapaksha Gunaratne, FOUR! That was deliberately played by Gunaratne to full effect. Half-tracker outside the off-stump, Gunaratne walks across and swept it down to fine-leg and had enough legs to run away to the ropes.
A single to finish the over and that's another expensive over from Thailand's perspective. 14 runs coming off that over and it's time for the players to have some refreshments.

9.5 Phannita Maya to Chamari Atapattu, slower one, back of a length on the stumps, Atapattu looks to drive but skews off the inside edge into the on-side for one.
9.4 Phannita Maya to Vishmi Rajapaksha Gunaratne, walks down the track, full outside the off-stump. Gunaratne reaches and drilled it back to the bowler. Maya reaches to get fingertips on it, but wasn't and it crashes through the stumps as they get one.
