Adelaide Strikers Women won the match by 11 runs. Ellyse Perry 54(28) Wellington 40(16) Sarah Bryce 62(44) Gardner 4-0-32-4
Team Adelaide Strikers have won an outstanding match from a position where they are literally out of this game. It's been a kind of roller coaster ride for the Strikers right from the start. However, the win is a win and they have conquered the first victory of this season, by beating the Sixers in their fortress.
It all began with the Sixers deciding to chase after winning the toss. However tonight the match didn't moved the way they must have been hoping for.
With the help of Patterson and Pendergast the Strikers reached a score that later became the winning total. Lauren Cheatle and Ashleigh Gardner took some crucial wickets in the middle overs.
The Sixers started the chase on a high note with skipper Perry and Keeper Bryce hitting all over the park. The scenarios changed suddenly when Perry departed. After which Mushangwe took 3 big wickets. Also Megan Schutt's slower ones helped them to restrict the hosts below the set target.
