Beth Mooney has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what she has to say.
Beth Mooney: It was an all-round Scorchers performance. We were pretty clinical today. The directive has been to bat and bat for as long as possible. The message has been quite clear and I am going about accordingly. It was nice for Maddy Darke to don the keeping gloves as I felt I needed a bit more recovery time after the batting innings. Wicketkeepers are pretty good in the field too and Amy Jones is showing that with her direct hits!
All over! Perth Scorchers take an emphatic win, thump Sixers by 61 runs!
End of a really clinical performance from the Scorchers. You couldn't have asked for anything more or less from them given the kind of tournament they've had. 189/6 was always going to be really big total to deal with but Sixers lacked the true intent (and luck) to manage it.
Make-shift opener Brown fell early. Perry and Gardner tried to shut shop and ended up getting too much pressure on themselves with dot balls that ended the latter's stay. Perry carried on for a bit, timing the ball as well as she ever has and for a moment it looked like she'll get the support of Burns.
But back-to-back runouts from Scorchers sent them both back, in a perfect reply to Sixers' excellent fielding in the first innings. Tyron and Bates put up a mini fight but Cleary, who looked in excellent touch, struck again to break that last hope as well. Ainsworth just finished things off after that.
19.3 Amy Edgar to Kate Peterson, AND THAT IS THAT! PERTH SCORCHERS WOMEN GET THE JOB DONE! Good length ball around off-stump. Peterson went across to try and lap it over short fine-leg. She did connect but played it straight to short fine-leg on the full. The fielder there made no mistake whatsoever!
Kate Peterson c Beth Mooney b Amy Edgar 10 (13b, 1x4, 0x6)
19.2 Amy Edgar to Lauren Cheatle, good length ball around off-stump. Driven firmly down to long-off for another single here.
19.1 Amy Edgar to Kate Peterson, over the wicket, good length ball on off-stump. Worked away to deep mid-wicket for a single off the front foot.

18.3 Alana King to Kate Peterson, good length ball around off-stump. Tapped off the back foot to short cover for a single again.
18.2 Alana King to Lauren Cheatle, good length ball around off-stump. Heaved down to deep mid-wicket for a single to rotate strike.

Alana King [3-0-17-2] comes back
Mills just missed the chance to finish things off in that over. This match is not going to have a big difference on the NRR either. Sixers just want to bat as much as they can.
