Hannah Darlington (Sydney Thunder captain): Yes, Deepti Sharma has grown in the game and she deserves the Player of the Match award. Yes, our bowling unit has improved considerably. The team is doing well but our batting unit gave us a good target to defend. So credit to them as well. Our three internationals are doing well. Issy's taking wickets in the top and the other two are also doing well. We need to keep our momentum and build up from now.

Sydney Thunder wins the match by 37 runs.

Chasing a total of 147 in 20 overs, Hobart Hurricanes came into the ground with a simple task at their hand - not lose early wickets. However, Sydney Thunder played spoilsport to that part as Rachel Priest departed for a duck in the first over.

Hurricanes lost another wicket in the powerplay as Ruth Johnston posted only 7 runs on the scoreboard at a strike rate of 50. The onus fell on the duo of Mignon du Preez and Nicola Carey to steady the ship and they did considerably well.

They put up a partnership of 44 runs from 39 balls but couldn't replicate what Smriti Mandhana and Phoebe Litchfield did for Sydney Thunder. du Preez was the first to depart after scoring 41 runs off 39 balls while Nicola Carey scored only 29 runs off 28 balls.

The likes of Richa Ghosh, Naomi Stalenberg, and Sasha Maloney couldn't do much as Hobart Hurricanes crumbled like a pack of cards.

In the end, Hobart Hurricanes posted only 109 runs conceding 8 wickets.

And, with that Sydney Thunder win the match by 37 runs. Deepti Sharma has been conferred with the Player of the Match award for her all-around performance.

That wicket was a gift. Tayla Vlaeminck departs without even facing a ball. Hobart Hurricanes are throwing wickets carelessly here.

Ball skids through past her outside edge, and the keeper takes it easily. Thunder's register their second win, and join the others on 5 points!

19.5 Deepti Sharma to Molly Strano , who yet again is standing wide away from her stumps. Sharma is up to the challenge and follows her, bowls it right on her foot. Strano drills it out, and finds the gap of cow corner, as she hurries back for a couple.

19.4 Deepti Sharma to Molly Strano , RUNOUT! There goes another one now! Full length delivery pitched up on the off stump. Strano works it away towards deep mid wicket. The throw is good, and the non striker is no where in the picture as Sharma knocks the bails off.

19.3 Deepti Sharma to Sasha Maloney , OUT! CAUGHT! Gone this time! Flighted delivery, on the off stump. Maloney tries to go big, and chips it straight towards the fielder at deep mid wicket.

19.2 Deepti Sharma to Sasha Maloney , DROPPED! Full and straight, with a bit of extra pace on it. Maloney smacks it back to the bowler, who gets a hand on it, but it was too hard a shot, for Sharma to hold onto it.
