The Hippos are knocked out of the tournament. They have shown promise throughout the tournament but can't live up to the expectation in the crunch eliminator clash. Their bowlers looked out of sorts and leaked plenty of runs at the start. Masood and Shakeel's carnage were good enough for United to reach 150 and in reply, Hook gave a bright start for the Hippos inside the powerplay

He was keeping the team alive in the contest but couldn't get much support at the other end. When the fielders made a meal of two easy catching opportunities, it looked like Hippos would use that as an advantage and hurt United but Obli bowled a brilliant spell to turn the tide. Ummat picked up Hook's wicket to hand the advantage and despite Robson's presence until the end, the Hippos couldn't cross the finish line.
