That'll be all for tonight. Thank you for joining, this is Raghav and Lavil signing off.
Cooper Connolly | Australia captain: I'm quite pleased with his (Teague Wyllie's) knock; it's rather remarkable to play such a knock at such a young age. Early wickets were crucial for us, and we got them in the first innings. Overall, I thought we were quite decent; it was a good effort on our part, and it was better than the warm-up games. We handled the new ball well, despite the fact that it was a little sticky at first.
Ackeem Auguste | West Indies captain: We were 50 runs short in the first innings due to our inability to form partnerships throughout the innings. We wanted to bowl dot balls with a high level of pressure. We still thought we had a chance to win the game since we were able to contain them.
The Player of the match is Teague Wyllie for his knock of 86(129): It was pretty tough to start, the new ball was difficult to bat through so to get through that was very good. Felt a bit nervous, I'm second youngest in the Aussie squad but I know if I play my role and stick to the brand of cricket I play I'm bound to do well. My strength is to bat for a long period of time and I take a lot of pride and giving my wicket away. We were talking about getting to manufacture a couple of runs and put the pressure back on the opponents
Australia win the match by six wickets and with 31 deliveries to spare. They have outplayed the West Indies in all three departments of the game and come out on top in the first game of the tournament.

Chasing  170, Australia were always going to be the favourites to win this match. However, when West Indies got two early wickets with the new ball, things started to look difficult for the Aussies and they had to regroup their innings. Johann Layne and Shiva Shankar got rid of Corey Miller and Isaac Higgins in the powerplay itself.

Teague Wyllie then took the responsibility in himself and contributed to two big fifty-plus partnerships with Cooper Connolly and Nivethan Radhakrishnan. While Wyllie carried his bat for a magnificent 86*, Radhakrishnan and Connolly's 31 and 23 were vital at the same time.

These three batters ensured that Australia would have no difficulties in chasing this total down and they ended up doing it with ease while grabbing all two points in the bag.
