That's all from us then! We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this Zimbabwe vs Ireland ODI series. This is Soumarya Dutta signing off. See you soon!
It's time for the Post Series Presentation!
Paul Stirling, Ireland Captain- We have a really good side at our disposal and some of the youngsters like Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker and Gareth Delany have been really exciting prospects. We will be looking to head into the Bangladesh series with the chance of a direct qualification for the world cup, but if we fail there, we still get another shot and we will be back here in Zimbabwe. It's always great to play Zimbabwe and be in this beautiful country. Obviously, we have some great relations with the Chevrons and long may that continue
Craig Ervine, Zimbabwe Captain- We have a few tired bodies and we will get only two weeks before the WI Test series to get the guys feet. I feel that the wicket was going to be a bit drier so decided to bat first. We are going through a transition period and it's important to have the younger guys with the older guys and the injuries meant that they got their opportunities. The A squad is going down to Bulawayo and get some game time before the all important Test series. It's been a really well fought tour but we play in the spirit of cricket and have great ties with the Irish side.
Harry Tector, Player of the Series- Grateful and fortunate to have put out some match winning performances. We missed out our experienced guys during the T20's but we had them during the ODI's and that definitely helped our cause. I look to play the situation usually and I think my role in the team is to anchor the innings batting in a crucial position Didn't bowl much in the ODI series because I still have some work to do with my bowling, particularly for the longer formats.

Right then, rain has played a spoilsport here at the Harare Sports Club and it's a real shame that the series will end in a tame draw. Both the sides went into this game with the chance of clinching the series but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. Ireland will be the more disappointed of the two teams, especially because they had some real momentum in their stride going into this game. They've looked a much better organized unit with the return of their key players like Stirling, Tucker and the talisman, Josh Little. They are a solid unit in ODI cricket and going forward they're still in with a chance of directly qualify for the World Cup later this year in India.
For Zimbabwe, it's been a rather satisfying tour as they clinched the closely fought T20 series 2-1 and managed to eke out a thrilling victory in the first ODI, which helped them to level the series 1-1 in the end. They've lost some key players throughout the series but many of the youngsters chipped in at crucial stages to ensure that the job was done. Ryan Burl, has probably been the biggest positive for them this series as he has come of age with the Bat besides continuing to improve on his bowling for which he was the Player of the Series in the T20I's. The Chevrons will have some tired bodies at the end of the series but they can't just throw in the towel yet. They've got a crucial Test series coming up against the West Indies and they will be looking to put their best foot forward.
A special mention for the crowds here at the Harare Sports Club, that have been nothing short of electrifying. They got right behind the home team throughout the tour and were quite fittingly the 12th Man. Castle Corner were at their usual best as they sang and danced and created a great atmosphere to play the game in. With the West Indies series and Test Cricket coming back, they will have a lot more to cheer about in the coming days.
Update, 18:30 pm IST, 3 pm Local time- We have some sad news from the Harare Sports Club! The game has been called off and that means that the series will end in a 1-1 draw!
Update 17:55 pm IST, 2:35 pm local time- Still no signs of the rain receding from the Harare Sports Club! It really looks grim out there and chances are that the game might be called off soon unless there is a miracle and it stops raining.
5:00 P.M. IST, 1:30 P.M. Local Time: Well.....all that effort from the ground staff has amounted to nothing. It's raining cats and dogs at Harare at the moment. The chances of a restart is getting bleaker by the minute....
4:40 P.M. IST, 1:10 P.M. Local Time: Still plenty of puddles across the ground, especially on the right hand side from the pavilion. Still a whole lot of mopping up needed to be done before we can resume play.
4:02 P.M. IST, 12:32 P.M. Local Time: The covers are starting to come off.
3:57 P.M. IST, 12:27 P.M. Local Time: Umm....bad news. The ground's empty. The sky looks rather bright, but there still seems to be a light drizzle across the ground.
3:47 P.M. IST, 12:17 P.M. Local Time: The outfield is being vigorously mopped up as we see the ground staff leaving no corner of the ground. There are movements in the middle of the ground - it seems like one of the larger covers is set to be moved away.....
3:25 P.M. IST, 11:55 A.M. Local Time: The rain seems to have returned, although it's just a slight drizzle at the moment. The ground staff have headed off the ground.
3:00 P.M. IST, 11:30 A.M. Local Time: Some positive news - the rain seems to have eased out a bit. The light has improved, and we see the ground staff on their job of drying the outfield.
2:15 P.M. IST, 10:45 A.M. Local Time: The sound of the rain splattering over the turf at the Harare Sports Club is very much audible. The lens of the broadcasting camera lens is covered with rainwater. We might be in for a heavily shortened game at this rate. Stay tuned for further updates.....
The rain is starting to get heavier, and now we see the larger covers being brought out. All the strips in the middle of the field are under cover now. The small section of crowd scurry over to find shelter.
The sound of the stumps clanging won't be a pleasant one for either of the teams in the following case. It's the umpires who made that sound - they have decided to call off play due to the drizzle, which was around for the last few minutes, getting heavier. The ground staff run out with the covers to shield the 22-yards from the rain. Hopefully, the break is a short one.
13.1 Curtis Campher to Innocent Kaia, WIDE! Hits the deck and it's sliding down the leg-side, Kaia pulls and misses
A few really close calls for the Zimbabwe captain in that over! Ryan Burl was seen padded up a few moments ago. Perhaps Zimbabwe want to keep the left-right combination intact, from the looks of it.
