Commentary

Right so, that will be curtains on what has been an outstanding series of T20 cricket. Ireland won it comfortably in the end but a spare of thought for the crowd here in HSC who were unbelievable and created a great atmosphere for cricket. Paul Stirling, Ireland Captain - We have gotten better as the week progressed. Delighted to get over the line eventually. We have got used to the conditions here and it was beneficial for us. There are places we need to improve upon going into the ODI series but plenty of positives with the middle order performing really well. There will be some changes during the ODI series and we will see that accordingly.

Harry Tector - I found it hard at the beginning but George did really well to take the pressure away from me. It's a proud moment for us to win a series against a full member nation. The pitch wasn't too different from the first two games, there was plenty in it for both the batters and the bowlers. The fans back home supported us through thick and thin and a shoutout to them for backing us. Will enjoy the day off and looking forward to starting well in the ODI's

George Dockrell is the Player of the Match! Here is what he has to say.

George Dockrell: Always nice to be able to contribute with both bat and ball, had a bit of a bowl in the first game, finished it off with the bat today! Harry Tector and I wanted to bat for 10-12 overs initially to give ourselves the chance to go big later on. This is a ground where runs can be scored in a flurry, and am glad we were able to get the job done. The ODI series will be a good one, a more challenging one I feel!

Ryan Burl (Zimbabwe captain): I think throughout the series, both the quicks, Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava were brilliant! Our batting has to improve in the power play. We need to show better application and get more runs in the fielding restrictions. I enjoyed my stint as captain today but losing three big players never helps. There have been some good performances in patches in this series, but, we hope to bounce back in the ODIs.

Historic scenes here at the Harare Sports Club as the Irish have clinched the T20 series here. They looked down and out as they were reeling at 37/4 just after the powerplay but an incredible partnership between Harry Tector and George Dockrell, ensured that they got over the line, quiet comfortably in the end.

Ireland lost both their openers in the powerplay as they looked to play the big shots and they were followed by Lorcan Tucker and Curtis Campher, who couldn't pick up the spinners. ZImbabwe looked comfortably placed at that stage of the game but the pair of Tector and Dockrell had other ideas.

They took the ones and twos initally and rotated the strike to get themselves in and get a hang of the surface. George Dockrell, started the onslaught after the 10th over and the game turned as he smashed Ryan Burl for two massive sixes in one over. From there onwards, Harry Tector joined the party and the boundaries flowed from both ends as Ireland began to cruise.

In the end, Tector got to his 50 while Dockrell remained unbeaten on 49. Although the latter's contribution will go down as series defining, considering how he wrested the momentum from Zimbabwe under difficult circumstances.

The Zimbabwean bowlers looked in control early on as they picked up three wickets in the powerplay but they lost the plot in the middle overs as the two Irish batters began to counter attack. Burl made a tactical error to continue with spin against Dockrell, when he should have brought back the spinners and it costed them in the end. Muzarabani, Ngarava, Masakadza and Mavuta picked up a wicket each for the Chevrons.

Hands aloft, a punch of the gloves between the two batters and it's an away series win for Ireland! It's their first away series win in T20 internationals since 2016
