FULL TIME!

Bengal Warriors 37-28 Tamil Thalaivas

The Warriors rise to the ninth position and they have ended the Thalaivas' six-match unbeaten run this season! A fantastic showing from the Warriors and they deserve to finish on the winning side in this contest. It was Maninder Singh as usual who did the bulk of the scoring, notching up yet another Super 10. However, the difference this time around was in the defence as they were on the money tonight. Amit Nirwal got a High 5 to his name while Ran Singh put in formidable back-holds and finished with 4 points on his PKL return.

The Thalaivas just could not match the Warriors tonight, especially in the second half. Surjeet Singh did not score a single point after attaining his High 5 in the first half while the raiders were constantly tackled. Ajinkya Pawar, who is usually their go-to raider in the second half, warmed the benches, in a strategy that certainly raised a few eyebrows. Nonetheless, they will look to make a strong comeback in the next encounter.

Bengal Warriors 20-16 Tamil Thalaivas

A brilliant comeback from the Warriors in the first half after they were staring at an all-out at one stage. Maninder Singh has led the Warriors raiding department yet again, scoring 8 raid points in the first half itself. The defence has been good today, apart from the few unnecessary errors towards the end. They have kept the Thalaivas' raiders quiet and have a 4-point lead going into the second half.

For the Thalaivas, skipper Surjeet Singh has bagged a High 5 in the first half itself and will be looking to convert it into a big score. Manjeet has seven raid points while the rest of the raiders will need to step up. An interesting second half awaits. Will the Thalaivas stage a comeback or will the Warriors secure their fourth win? Right then, the Tamil Thalaivas and the Bengal Warriors have had pretty contrasting seasons thus far. While the former mostly dealt in ties before unlocking the magic formula for sealing the deal, the Warriors need to pick themselves up and come out all guns blazing if they want to have any chance at retaining their title. The Thalaivas are placed fourth on the points table with 27 points after three wins, one loss and four tied encounters. The Warriors too have three wins but the rest of their five encounters have all been lost. They are reeling at the tenth position in the points table with 17 points to their name.

It has been a difficult task for Maninder Singh this season as the skipper has had to do the bulk of the scoring. Despite Maninder putting in his very best, the Warriors side have just been unable to provide him with support in the defence and raiding. Nabibakhsh has been the lone player apart from Maninder who has come good for the Warriors but it has just not been enough for them. The Warriors have lost four out of their last five encounters and will be desperate to get back to winning ways.

The Thalaivas are on a six-match unbeaten streak coming into this contest, which includes three ties and three wins. They have been phenomenal this season and are just getting into their groove. Surjeet Singh has led the side fantastically, and the veteran's presence on the mat boosts the confidence of the young defenders playing alongside him. The raiding department has plenty of options as well, with the likes of Manjeet, Athul MS, Bhavani Rajput and do-or-die specialist Ajinkya Pawar coming good for the Thalaivas. They will certainly be starting this game as favourites and will definitely look to extend their unbeaten streak by one more match.
