FULL TIME!

Bengaluru Bulls 39-40 Bengal Warriors

The Warriors exact revenge on the Bulls and they have done it in similar fashion, picking up a narrow 1-point win. Oh what a match it has been! Spare a thought for the Bulls. They were certainly the better side tonight but one review, just a solitary review from the Warriors turned things around in their favour. At a point when the Bulls were leading comfortably, an 8-pointer from Nabibakhsh not only prevented the all-out but also gave the opportunity to inflict the all-out on the Bulls, something that was done in the next thirty seconds. After that, the Warriors assumed lead, one which the Bulls could not wipe-off. Despite their best attempts, it is the Warriors who take away 5 points from this contest. Pawan Sehrawat raided his heart out, notching up a Super 10 while Ranjit got 8 raid points as well. However, some errors in the defence proved to be their undoing. Nonetheless, they will look to take this in their streak and move on. Meanwhile, the Warriors enter into the top-six with this win!
40' Sukesh Hegde runs down the clock and does not even make an attempt for a touch in the do-or-die raid. 29-seconds on the clock and Hegde uses the entire 30 seconds.
40' Ran Singh puts in a double thigh hold but the raider drags himself towards the mid-line.

Bengaluru Bulls 38-40 Bengal Warriors
39' Pawan picks up a bonus point and has to return without a touch point.

Bengaluru Bulls 37-40 Bengal Warriors
39' Bharat puts in another quick raid as he gets a point on Ran Singh.

Bengaluru Bulls 36-40 Bengal Warriors
38' Do-or-die raid for the Warriors and Maninder Singh comes in for it. A dive from the left corner on Maninder's ankles but no support from the rest of the defence allows Singh to drag himself towards the mid-line.
38' Another quick raid as Bharat unsettles the defence and gets a running bonus point in front of the right cover.

However, Bengal Warriors review it. The bonus is as clear as day and the Warriors lose their review!

Bengaluru Bulls 35-39 Bengal Warriors
37' A quick bonus point taken from Bharat. A 5-second raid and a 5-point deficit for the Bulls now.
36' The defence hangs back and allows Ranjit to pick up the bonus. A diving ankle hold from Ranjit combined with assistance from the covers puns him down.

Bengaluru Bulls 33-39 Bengal Warriors
TIMEOUT!
36' An error from the cover defender and Maninder Singh comfortably gets a touch and makes his way back to his half.
35' A powerful back-hold from Ran Singh and Pawan is completely caught blindsided. A solo tackle if there was any.

32' An error from the left corner as as weak ankle hold is not enough to tackle Maninder Singh.

Bengaluru Bulls 30-33 Bengal Warriors
32' A point to Sehrawat as Amit Nirwal goes for an advance tackle.
TIMEOUT!
30' ALL OUT! The defence allows Ranjit to pick up a bonus point before the right corner puts in a double ankle hold and pins him down.

A raid ago, it was the Bulls staring at an all-out and now the all0out has been inflicted on it!

Bengaluru Bulls 29-32 Bengal Warriors
29' All out! Nabibakhsh picks up a bonus point but ends up venturing far too deep. The covers run round and dash him out. But hang on! Bengal Warriors have asked for a review!

Nabibakhsh claims he had gone into the lobby without a touch which means as many as four Bulls defenders will have to make their way back.

Chandran Ranjit has stepped into the lobby before the cover defender ran around for a touch and Nabibakhsh indeed has stepped into the lobby without contact! Mahender Singh has followed him into the lobby and so do quite a few others.

REVIEW SUCCESSFUL! One point to the Bulls and BONUS PLUS SEVEN POINTS TO THE WARRIORS!! ALL THE BULLS MEN HAD FOLLOWED NABIBAKHSH INTO THE LOBBY! ALL OUT! However, since Nabibaksh had stepped into the lobby, Ranjit can remain on the mat as he was the first one to step into the lobby. SHEER DRAMA!

Now Bengaluru Bulls counter-review!
They believe the right-corner defender and Ranjit are not out. However, the review is unsuccessful.
Bonus plus seven points to the Warriors, one point to the Bulls.

HALF TIME!

Bengaluru Bulls 13-14 Bengal Warriors

A slender one point lead for the Warriors going into the second half and it has been an absolutely evenly-fought contest so far. Both star raiders - Maninder Singh and Pawan Sehrawat - have been kept quiet so far, with them picking up just 3 and 2 points respectively. The defence has played a key part for both teams and the side that puts in a better defensive performance is likely to inch ahead and seal the deal. Will the raiders do the bulk of the scoring or will the defence reign supreme? Which side will grab what promises to be a nail-biter? Stick around to find out!
20' Do-or-die raid for the Warriors and Nabibakhsh comes in for it with only one second on the clock. The right corner chain pounces on him and a back hold from Pawan completes the tackle.

Bengal Warriors 10-9 Bengaluru Bulls
13' Maninder Singh is tackled as a double thigh hold from the right corner completely immobilises him.
12' Amit Sheoran dives for the ankles and gets a grip on Nabibakhsh as well but no support from the defence allows the Iranian to drag himself towards the mid-line.

Bengal Warriors 9-7 Bengaluru Bulls
11' Nabibakhsh picks up a bonus point between the left-in and the cover defender.
10' A powerful ankle hold from Amit Sheoran in the left corner and Maninder Singh has to make his way back to the bench.

Bengal Warriors 7-7 Bengaluru Bulls
10' Ranjit runs around the dashing left cover defender but Ran Singh stands in front of him like a wall and puts in a formidable block.

Right, the Bengaluru Bulls must surely have had to re-strategise after news emerged that they will be taking on defending champions Bengal Warriors instead of the Patna Pirates last night, for reasons that remained unrevealed. Nonetheless, being one of the best teams in the tournament so far, the Bulls will take the challenge head-on as they look to secure a second win this season over the Warriors. The Bengaluru outfit is placed third at the half-way mark and will be eager to rise to the top spot again with a win here. The duo of Pawan Sehrawat and Chandran Ranjit has been doing wonders for them and the defence will be looking to provide the much-needed support to them. Sehrawat has notched up 3 Super 10s on the trot and will be looking to carry the momentum in this game as well.

The Bengal Warriors, on the other hand, have had a sub-par campaign this season and have not played like the defending champions. The defence bears a sorry sight and prior to the inclusion of Ran Singh in the starting seven, it was Maninder and Nabibakhsh who had to do basically all the scoring. The reliance still continues but Ran Singh has brought about a little life into what has been a torrid run for the defenders. As the Warriors look to avenge their defeat against the Bulls last time they clashed, it promises to be nothing short of a riveting contest. We can certainly expect a high-scoring encounter with the likes of Pawan and Maninder taking the mat tonight!
