Gujarat Giants 29-49 Bengaluru Bulls

Dominance! Sheer dominance from Pawan Sehrawat & Co. and the Bulls skipper has been hoisted on the shoulders of two players! A comprehensive performance and they secure a massive, massive 20-point win to burst their way into the playoffs. It will be an encounter worth looking forward to as the Bulls will lock horns with Naveen's Dabang Delhi in the second Semi-Final! The Giants were no match to the Bulls' prowess and were outplayed in every department. Rakesh HS tried his best, scoring 8 raid points while Pardeep Kumar was once again brought far too late into the contest one might argue. The defense did not fire as expected with the corners having a torrid run. 

As for the Bulls, it was skipper Pawan Sehrawat once again as he added yet another Super 10 to his name, scoring 12 raid and one tackle point. Mahender Singh starred in the defense with a High 5 while both corners, Saurabh Nandal and Aman, put in some atrocious tackles and finished with 4 points apiece. Valuable contributions from Bharat and Chandra Ranjit see the Bulls through to the semi-finals, where they will be hoping to put in a similar performance to give Delhi a run for their money. 

40' Bharat comes in for a do-or-die raid, with only 26 seconds on the clock. Runs down the clock and returns without a point. A point granted to the Giants and all that does is reduce the margin of defeat. 

38' Ajay Kumar is tackled as Aman runs across and puts in a surprise but powerful back hold.

Gujarat Giants 28-49 Bengaluru Bulls

38' It is a comfortable raid for Pawan with only one man on the court as Parvesh surrenders and pushes him across the mid-line. ALL OUT!

38' Girish Ernak attempts a bonus in a do-or-die raid but fails and has to make his way back to the bench. 

37' Pawan goes in for a do-or-die raid and strikes! Hadi runs around for a block but the Hi-Flyer jumps his way through to the mid-line.

35' Rakesh HS is tackled as Aman from the left corner puts in an iron-clad ankle hold and the covers run across in a flash.

Gujarat Giants 28-43 Bengaluru Bulls

34' SUPER TACKLE! Pawan Sehrawat ventures deep and a strong ankle hold from Parvesh combined with assistance from the left corner defender completes the tackle. 

34' Pardeep Kumar is tackled as the right side of the defense combines with the covers to put in a block. A defender pulls his ankles from behind and Pardeep is tackled just inches within the mid-line.

Gujarat Giants 26-42 Bengaluru Bulls

33' Bharat comes in for a do-or-die raid but he perishes! Carries too much momentum and goes into the lobby without a touch. Sunil runs around for a dash and ventures into the lobby too. One point to each side. 

32' Ajay Kumar is brought down as Saurabh Nandal puts in a formidable double ankle hold. 

31' Rakesh HS is tackled as Pawan Sehrawat goes for a block. As soon as he does that, the left side of the defense puts in a dive at Rakesh's ankles. Pawan converts the block into a thigh hold and bogs down the raider.

However, Giants review! They believe that the left corner had stepped out of bounds. Replays show that the foot was on the end-line and not crossing it. Review unsuccessful!

30' Rakesh HS escapes Mahender Singh's attempted thigh hold and flies his way to the mid-line. The bonus is not awarded and Giants review!

29' Bharat steps into the lobby before the left corner defender runs around. Runs across him and shoves him into the lobby. One point to each side. 

28' The right corner chain stands tall and pins down Pardeep Kumar, who attempts to jump over the chain. 

28' Rakesh HS is sent spiralling out of bounds as the cover defenders run around and put in a solid dash. 

26' Chandran Ranjit runs straight into the thigh hold of Parvesh Bhainswal and is tackled.

26' ALL OUT! Hadi Oshtorak is granted the bonus point after which a diving ankle hold from the left corner completely immobilises him.

Gujarat Giants 18-25 Bengaluru Bulls

21' Girish Ernak is enticed into going for an ankle hold and Bharat escapes as the ankle hold does not get a grip. 

Half Time: Bengaluru Bulls 24 - 17 Gujarat Giants

A great half of Kabaddi here in Bengaluru as the Bengaluru Bulls have taken a 7-point lead here. Both their raiders Pawan Sehrawat and Chandran Ranjith have done well on the mat keeping the Giants' defence on their toes. Aman and Mahender Singh have been resilient in the defence keeping the Giants' raiders at bay.

Gujarat Giants will have to bring their A-game defensively if they are to have a shot at a comeback here. Apart from Sunil Kumar's one tackle point, they have not managed to score another tackle points. Ajay Kumar, Mahendra Singh Rajput and Rakesh Sangroya will be they key men to put pressure on the Bulls' defence. It will be interesting to see how the sides shape up in the second half on the mat! SUPER TACKLE!! Rakesh Sangroya went in against the final two Bulls' defenders in the last raid of the first half but is trapped with a strong tackle by the 'Bulldozer' Mahender Singh and Jaideep jumps in to support his teammate. 

Chandran Ranjith, in for the do-or-die raid, tries the bonus point two times but the umpires have not given it and the Bulls call for a TV review within no time....we wait and watch....

Pardeep Kumar gets two there! He was able to escape the clutches of Saurabh Nandal at the right corner and also got the touch on Aman who rushed in from the left corner.

Rakesh Sangroya is able to escape the weak tackle attempt from Pawan Sehrawat as the raider continues to keep the Giants alive in the match.

Pawan Sehrawat attempts to score a kick early on, then tries a hand touch and manages to catch the right corner and adds another point to his tally.

Rakesh Sangroya strikes back for the Giants as he escapes the ankle hold from Aman and goes past the dash attempt from Mayur Kadam as well going past the midline with a break of speed.

Chandran Ranjith is at his best tonight as he endures a dash attempt from Parvesh Bhainswal and manages to fall back just within the bounds past the midline.

Rakesh Sangroya adds a touch point to his tally as he is able to withstand the tackle from Aman who dove in from the left corner.

The bonus stands for the Bulls as the Giants have lost their one and only TV review for the night.

Chandran Ranjith extends the lead further as he gets a bonus point at the right corner of the defence, but the Giants have asked for a review here....we await the TV umpire's decision now....

Pardeep Kumar, off the bench for the raid as the last man gets the early bonus and attempts to escape the right corner but is bogged down and Bulls have their All-out finaly!

Bengaluru Bulls 19 - 10 Gujarat Giants

Pawan Sehrawat reduces the Giants to the lone man on the mat as he gets the easy hand touch on Hadi Oshtorak who was unable to evade the High Flyer there!

Ajay Kumar adds a bonus point to the Giants' tally as they have just two men on the mat now with just over seven minutes to play.

Against three defenders, Pawan Sehrawat is able to corner Parvesh Bhainswal at the left corner and gets a faint touch and rushes back to the midline.

Strong block from Mahender Singh on Mahendra Rajput who tried a high kick on Bharat but faces the bulky cover defender of the Bulls.

Pawan Sehrawat continues to score as he is able to escape the ankle hold attempt from Rakesh Sangroya who is not able to lock the tackle on the retreat.

Chandran Ranjith is successful again as he escapes the double thigh hold attempt from Sunil Kumar at the left cover position but the raider jumps over him and escapes to the midline.

Ajay Kumar induces an error from Pawan Sehrawat in defence as he tries to get the raider with a diving ankle hold but fails.

Pawan Sehrawat adds another multi-point raid to his score as he escapes the clutch of Girish Ernak after getting the bonus point.

Another failure from Bharat Hooda as he is unable to pin down Mahendra Rajput who escapes the ankle hold at the right corner this time!

Pawan Sehrawat is back in for the Bulls and adds two points as he gets the bonus as well as the running hand touch on Hadi at the right corner.

Rakesh Sangroya adds a touch point to his tally as he escapes the ankle hold attempt from Bharat, who has been poor with his ankle holds tonight so far!

Ranjith continues his purple patch as he is able to dodge the advance tackle attempt from Girish Ernak and turns away from the defender to reach the midline.

Bengaluru Bulls 7 - 4 Gujarat Giants

Do-or-die raid for Gujarat as Mahendra Rajput is able to escape the clutches of Bharat who went for the ankle hold but is unable to hold the raider down.

Chandran Ranjith continues to score as he induces an error from Hadi Oshtorak who attempted a diving ankle hold but the raider is able to escape with ease.

Chandran Ranjith adds another bonus point to the Bulls' total with another cool, calm raider but that is not enough to revive their lead raider.

Rakesh Sangroya gets tackled with a diving ankle hold by Aman as the defence scrambles to keep the raider away from the midline as he attempted to break free!

Pawan Sehrawat is dashed out of bounds after scoring the bonus point as Sunil timed his tackle perfectly with a shoulder dash here! Advantage Gujarat?

Rakesh Sangroya, the third raider on the mat for the Giants adds another point to the tally as he gets a running bonus at the centre of the Gujarat defence. Great skill shown there!

Chandran Ranjith, the calm raider for the Bulls gets things running with a bonus point at the right corner of the Gujarat defence.

Mahendra Rajput scores the first point for Gujarat as he manages to get a low kick on Bharat Hooda who was going to attempt the ankle hold on the lanky raider.

Ajay Kumar goes for the first raid of the match and is caught by Aman with a strong ankle hold and the defence rushed to support the corner defender.

Right then, the Gujarat Giants were the penultimate side to secure a playoffs spot. Their luck was in their own hands as a win over U Mumba would ensure them of a playoffs spot. The Giants did not disappoint and came out all guns blazing to get the better of the Mumbai outfit. They have a balanced side, with both raiders and defenders chipping in with points. Ajay Kumar, Pardeep Kumar, Mahendra Ganesh Rajput will hold the key for their success while in the defensive scheme of things, the Parvesh-Sunil combo will need to be at its best. 

The Bengaluru Bulls, on the other hand, qualified after Puneri Paltan beat the Jaipur Pink Panthers. Placed fifth in the points table, the Bulls had 11 wins, 9 losses and two ties to their name. After being overdependent on Pawan Sehrawat for a majority of the tournament, the Bulls have developed the potential to snare wins without major contributions from the Hi-Flyer. Bharat's all-round prowess combined with the two corners in Aman and Saurabh Nandal will have to bring their A-game to the mat if they are to bring down the mighty Giants tonight.
