A topsy-turvy game and Fazel wins his hundredth game as captain! Gujarat made a booming comeback in the second half and wiped off the lead to assume an 8-point lead. However, the lead did not last too long as U Mumba inflicted an all-out to level the score with less than a minute to go. However, it was that man once again - Sonu Jaglan - who delivered when it mattered the most for the Giants. Put in a super raid in the dying moments of the match and that was it for them!

Far too many errors by the much-famed U Mumba defense today and there were far too many butterfingers moments, especially with Rinku. The left corner and right cover position was a weak one for them and leaked a lot of points, which allowed the Giants' raiders to keep the scoreboard ticking.

U Mumba failed to capitalise on the key moments and succumb to their first loss of the season. On the other hand, Gujarat Giants have won their third game on the trot! Sonu Jaglan has emerged as the star, picking up Super 10s in all three matches! The Giants further consolidate their top-of-the-table position while U Mumba will want to move on from this loss quickly ahead of their next game. 

40' One defender pushes the Mumba raider back. Following this, Sonu runs down the clock and Gujarat Giants win!

40' SONU YOU STAR! He has put in an amazing raid here! THAT IS A SUPER RAID! Rinku runs around with a chain in order to tackle but Sonu powers through it and crosses the mid-line. Third successive Super 10 for Sonu Jaglan! That should be the final nail in the coffin!

Gujarat Giants have done exceptionally well to stay in the contest after facing the possibility of an all out been inflicted on them! Fazel Atrachali's raiding prowess came to the fore along with his defensive capabilities which has kept the Giants in the hunt. Both sides started off well, with the raiders stealing the limelight. It was Rakesh from the Giants while Zafardanesh and Guman from U Mumba who raked in the points. 

U Mumba were down to three men but a super tackle from Mahender on Sonu followed. The Mumbai-based team got points on the trot to reduce the Giants down to three men but Fazel's points in the raiding and defense has prevented the all out. 

This is turning out to be a hotly-contested match and perhaps the first team which will inflict the all out could very well take home the game. Promises to be a riveting second half! Stay tuned as we will be back with it in just a few minutes!

18' Do-or-die raid for the Giants and Fazel Atrachali comes in for it! He thought it was the second raid but turns out to be a do-or-die one. And he succeeds! Surinder runs around for a dash and Fazel throws him over the mid-line! Oh wow! That is raw brute strength!

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of Pro Kabaddi League, 2023! The seventh match of the tournament will pit hosts Gujarat Giants up against a young U Mumba outfit at the Arena by TransStadia, Ahmedabad. 

The Gujarat Giants have had a dream start to their tournament, winning both their matches so far in the tournament. Interestingly, both matches were poised against them but their 'Super Sub' Sonu Jaglan changed the course of the match on both occasions, finishing with two back-to-back Super 10s. He has been an absolute revelation in the Giants camp, and with the likes of Rakesh Sungroya and Parteek Dahiya struggling, the Giants have found a sensational raider. 

Their defense has been pretty solid as well. Led by Fazel Atrachali in the right corner, the Giants' defense has stepped up on most occasions. What has come as a surprise is Mohammad Nabibakhsh's defensive skills. He has turned over a new lead this season and seems to have mastered the skill of putting in Super Tackles. Overall, the Giants will definitely start off as favourites in this contest. 

Giving the Giants a run for their money today will be U Mumba. The side has adopted a moneyball approach, not picking the biggest names in the auction but have assembled quite a decent squad, which was seen in their first match where they got the better of the UP Yoddhas. They found a star in Amirmohammad Zafardanesh, who scored a Super 10 on PKL debut. Under the tutelage of coach Gholamreza Mazarandani, the Iranian raiding trio of U Mumba will be all geared up to showcase their skills. 

The defense of U Mumba, although not having the best of times in the last game, is one of the strongest in the tournaments. The only issue that seems to be plaguing them is going for advance tackles instinctively, which, if they curb, can make them formidable. The quartet of Surinder, Mahender, Rinku and Girish Ernak are also assisted by Visvanath V, who can be handy in both raid and defense. All-in-all, U Mumba will be aiming to pulling off an upset today by getting the better of the home team.
