FULL TIME! UP Yoddhas 30 - 38 Gujarat Giants

A magnificent turnaround from the Giants and they end their three-match losing streak to register their fourth win. The shoot up to the third position in the points table courtesy of a win which has not come easily for them by any means. The Giants will breathe a high sigh of relief as they finally register a win after a gap of two legs of PKL 10. Rakesh's 14 points of the night was complemented by Fazel Atrachali's 6 points in defense, which ended up making the difference. Trailing at half time, the Giants made a big turnaround to inflict the all out and assume the lead. They never let go of it after that as they cruise to an 8-point win in the end. The Yoddhas will surely have some thinking to do as they remain winless for the fourth game in a row. 

40' Vijay Malik snaps up a bonus point in front of the left corner defender. Finally, Parteek Dahiya runs down the clock before going for a running hand touch. A strong thigh hold from Nitesh Kumar from the right corner brings Parteek down!

39' Rakesh picks up pace and gets in a running hand touch on the right corner. On the other side, a solid block turned into a double thigh hold by Fazel lifts the raider off his feet!

37' ALL OUT! A surrender raid as the last remaining defender pushes back the Giants' raider! A sizeable lead for the Giants now!

36' Do-or-die raid for the Giants and Rakesh strikes! Ashu runs around with a dash but Rakesh runs around him and returns!

And on the other side, it is an ALL OUT! Rakesh's speed forces Gurdeep to step past the end-line. It is a surrender raid from there on as Nitesh Kumar tries a hold but Rakesh escapes.

UP Yoddhas 22 - 23 Gujarat Giants

26' Anil runs straight into the block of Sombir and is tackled as Fazel runs around for assistance as well.

On the other side, Parteek Dahiya puts in a kick and gets the better of Sumit in the left corner to reduce the Yoddhas down to two men.

SUPER TACKLE! Nitesh Kumar puts in a solid double thigh hold and Parteek Dahiya is tackled! Gurdeep runs around for assistance in a flash!

24' Do-or-die raid for the Yoddhas and Pardeep Narwal is brought down! The chain of Fazel and Nabibakhsh runs around and the raider is pinned down!

Do-or-die raid for the Giants and Rakesh Sungroya strikes! The right corner runs around with a dash but there is no assistance for Ashu. Rakesh turns and uses the lobby to return.

The UP Yoddhas in the lead, and a well-deserved one too! The Yoddhas were aggressive right from the get-go and got off the blocks quickly. From there on, it was both the sides trading blows constantly as the Giants kept trying to catch-up while the Yoddhas attempted to extend the lead. Surender Gill has led the charge with nine points while on the other side, Rakesh Sungroya has gotten the big points in the raiding for the Giants. The pace of the game has largely reduced after the initial few minutes as both sides have opted to play on the defense. Which side will emerge on top? Stick around to find out!

Nitesh Kumar is tackled on the other side! Rakesh tries to jump over him but Nitesh gets a grip on his ankles and brings him down!

16' Do-or-die raid for the Yoddhas and Surender Gill strikes! An attempt at an ankle hold from Nabibakhsh but it is to no avail! Gill escapes.

On the other side, it is a do-or-die raid for the Giants and Rakesh strikes as he escapes from Sumit's ankle hold and returns.

Surender Gill picks up another point as he bulldozes through Sombir's block and takes him back to his half.

Rakesh puts in a kick and gets a touch on the left corner defender.

14' Aashish runs around with a block but Rakesh turns and escapes. Crosses the mid-line with his feet.

12' One point to each side now! The left cover runs around and dashes the raider out of bounds. Nitesh ends up going outside the lobby too as he carried too much momentum with him.

Surender Gill snaps up a bonus point in front of the left corner defender.

10' Nitesh Kumar tries a block but Sonu turns and escapes back to his half.

Surender Gill is pinned down! A solid thigh hold from the right cover and Gill is completely immobilised! Ravi Kumar the hero!

On the other side, Rakesh is dashed out as Sumit runs around from the left corner and dashes him out of bounds!

The Giants return the favour as a solid ankle hold from the right corner brings down the Record Breaker!

8' Surender Gill snaps up a bonus point in front of the left corner defender.

Following this, Sonu extends his hand and gets a hand touch on the right cover defender.

Rakesh picks up a bonus point in front of the left corner defender.

Surender Gill puts in a wily toe-touch and sends back Fazel Atrachali from the left corner.

Gujarat Giants 6 - 12 UP Yoddhas

6' The UP defense hangs back and allows Rakesh to snap up a bonus point.

On the other side, Surender Gill corners both defenders and gets a touch on the left corner, reducing the Giants down to one man!

Following that, it is an ALL OUT! Rakesh is granted the bonus point after which he runs straight into the right corner's double thigh hold and is brought down! Big lead for the Yoddhas!

4' A solid thigh hold from Sumit and he pulls back Rohit Gulia single-handedly.

Do-or-die raid for the Yoddhas and Surender Gill puts in a SUPER DUPER RAID! A herculean effort from Gill and he's bulldozed his way to the mid-line! Three points for the Yoddhas! Bulldozes through the right corner chain and sends back Fazel as well, who had come for assistance!

2' Rakesh Sungroya starts off with a running hand touch on the right cover Ravi Kumar.

Pardeep Narwal responds with a big raid! Turns and escapes as Fazel and Sonu run around for a block. Pardeep goes through them and crosses the mid-line.

Rohit Gulia picks up pace and gets a running hand touch on one of the defenders in the left side.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. The 37th match of the tournament will witness the Gujarat Giants take on the UP Yoddhas at the SDAT Indoor Stadium, Chennai. 

The Gujarat Giants have had a topsy-turvy campaign so far. They started off with three wins in their home leg but have failed to win even a single encounter. They have gone on to lose three matches on the trot and will have gone back to the drawing board, especially after they failed to cross the line in their previous match against the Steelers in a closely-fought encounter. 

All three of their losses have been by very bare margin and they are failing to hold their nerves in the dying moments of the game. That will be the biggest area that they will need to concern as they look to prevent a quartet of losses today against the Yoddhas. Their defense will need to come good against the raiding duo of Surender Gill and Pardeep Narwal if they are to win today. 

UP Yoddhas, similarly, haven't been able to get a winning streak going. They have not won a match in their previous three encounters and will be looking to get a win under their belt today. They will put their hope in Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill to do the bulk of the damage while Vijay Malik's all round contribution will be needed. Their covers need to perform better for them to win today. The Yoddhas will need to build some momentum before their home leg, which is coming up.
