Haryana Steelers 37-30 Puneri Paltan

As both sides line-up to acknowledge each other's perfjoamcne with a namaste, it is Anup Kumar and Rakesh Kumar who step ahead and give each other a salute. Display of sheer respect and friendship as Rakesh Kumar wins the battle. A far better performance from the Steelers, especially in the second half where they inflicted the all-out in the initial moments.

The lead which the Steelers acquired post the all-out, was a tough one for Pune to wipe off as their defence committed far too many errors while the raiders were unable to put in the multi-point raids. The Steelers held the lead after that for the rest of the contest, inflicting a second all-out on the way as well. They will certainly be pleased with their performance. As for Pune, the failure of the raiders when the opposition defence has four or less men will be a point on which they will have to improve substantially before their next contest. Half of the campaign is over for both sides and they will be hoping for a much better half in the coming days.

Haryana Steelers 14-14 Puneri Paltan

An evenly-fought contest so far and both sides go into the second half with absolutely nothing to separate them. It is a battle between Pune's raiders and Haryana's defenders. 4 tackle points each for Jaideep and Mohit for Haryana from their 14 points and they will look to continue the same form in the second half. For Pune, Nitin Tomar has 5 points and is the highest-scorer for them. A few rare errors from the Haryana defence gifted them extras as well. Nonetheless, they will be hoping for a better performance in both departments. Which side will emerge on top? Stick around to find out!

Right then, the Haryana Steelers and the Puneri Paltan are two sides who have not had the best of campaigns so far. They seemed to have formidable sides when the tournament started and have not lived up to their potential. While the Paltan are placed eleventh with 21 points to their name, the Steelers have fared slightly better and sit ninth with 24 points. Should Pune win this contest, they will replace the Steelers and end up ninth while the Steelers will hold their position if they win or if the game results in a tie.

Puneri Paltan seemed to have made a brilliant comeback, winning two big games on the trot by hefty margins. However, in their previous encounter, they were handed a 10-run defeat by the U.P. Yoddha in a game that the Paltan's defence failed miserably. Both Mohit Goyat and Aslam Inamdar notched up Super 10s, but for every one point that they got, two were leaked in the defence. They will be hoping for a much better showing from their defence in this contest.

The Steelers too will be coming into this contest on the back of a narrow 3-point loss against an inspired Delhi outfit despite Naveen Kumar being injured halfway through the game. The Steelers are winless in the last three games and will be desperate to turn that around in this contest. Vikash Kandola and Meetu will need to step up while their much-talked about defence will need to bring their experience and skills to the fore. It is the battle of the best-friends - Rakesh Narwal and Anup Kumar - not on the mat but as coaches this time around! Expect this game to go down the wire.
