FULL TIME! Telugu Titans 37 - 36 Haryana Steelers

Cue the cameras! The Telugu Titans have won their first match in PKL 10 and they are ecstatic! A closely-fought contest but in the end, it is the the Titans who emerge on top! It was neck-and-neck till the very end, with both sides trading blows and the lead changing hands constantly. The Telugu Titans just managed to stay in the lead with single-point raids and some moments of brilliances and for the Steelers, it was young Shivam Patare who more than made up for all the errors in the defense and kept the Steelers afloat with his agile raiding. Ajit Pawar and Sandeep Dhull in the defense ensured that the Titans kept getting the points. Some nervy moments towards the end and it is the Titans who manage to get over the finish line, by a single point. The Haryana Steelers' four-match unbeaten streak comes to an end and they will look to get back to winning ways in their next match. As for the Titans, they will hope that they can get some momentum from this game and take it forward in the next few matches. 

40' One of the Titans defender stands ahead of the rest and pushes back Vinay, who was trying to get another point. However, he has to return. And that is the Telugu Titans' first win in PKL 10!

40' Do-or-die raid for the Titans and Pawan Sehrawat is dashed out! He runs down the clock and in the end he tries for a point. However, a solid dash from Mohit sends him packing! Seems to have hurt his shoulder there once again!

40' Shivam Patare is brought down! The left corner chain runs around led by Ajit and they pin down Shivam! That should be the final nail in the coffin!

39' SUPER TACKLE! Hamid stands in front with a big hefty block and Vinay cannot escape as there is assistance from Ajit and Pawan right away!

38' Do-or-die raid for the Titans and Prafull Zaware is pinned down! As soon as he flies through the air for a touch, the left side of the defense runs around and pins him down!

37' SUPER TACKLE! Shivam Patare is dashed out! He ventures deep in the right side of the defense as the left corner runs around and single-handedly sends him spiralling out of bounds! Big couple of points for the Titans!

36' Omkar More runs around with a dash but Vinay turns and uses the lobby to get past the mid-line.

On the other side, Pawan snaps up a bonus point in a defense of five courtesy of Rahul's suspension.

The right corner runs around with a dash but Vinay once again turns and returns. Well, Sandeep Dhull has to return as well as he had stepped past the end line. Two points to the Steelers!

34' A High 5 for Sandeep Dhull as he puts in a double ankle hold. Clips the raider's ankles together and there is no escape from that possible. 

Do-or-die raid for the Titans and Prafull Zaware is tackled! Rahul Sethpal runs around with a dash and he is pushed out of bounds beyond the end-line. Has Rahul Sethpal been involved in jersey pull? There was some and he gets a green card for it but the point has been given. Oh well, it was the second green card for Rahul Sethpal and that is a yellow card for Rahul! He faces a two-minute suspension!

Telugu Titans 31 - 30 Haryana Steelers

32' Do-or-die raid for the Steelers and Vinay perishes! A surprise double ankle hold by Ajit Pawar from the right-in position and the rest of the defense piles upon him.

On the other side, Pawan is pinned down! A solid thigh hold from Mohit from the left corner and Pawan is completely immobilised!

Sandeep Dhull with another tackle! Pounces at Shivam's ankles and brings him down as the right side of the defense runs around for assistance.

30' Shivam patter is brought down! Loses balance and falls down and as he is getting up, Sandeep Dhull runs around with a back hold and brings him down.

Do-or-die raid for the Titans and Rajnish comes in for it. Runs around and is pinned down in the end. A diving thigh hold from the left corner and the raider is immobilised!

28' Shivam Patare escapes from Rajnish's attempted ankle hold and escapes comfortably. 

On the other side, Prafull Zaware has been dashed out! The centre defender in Mohit runs around and dashes him out. Prafull has crossed the mid-line but at that moment, he did not have any part in the lobby. His right foot was landed outside the lobby when he crossed. Well, it will be out. Review unsuccessful!

27' Prafull escapes from the right in's attempted surprise ankle hold and drags himself back to the mid-line.

On the other side, a bonus point is picked up by Shivam Patare.

Pawan escapes from Jaideep's attempted ankle hold and returns back to his half with ease.

25' Do-or-die raid for the Titans and Rajnish perishes! As soon as he tries a kick on the left corner, Mohit runs around with a dash and dashes him out.

Do-or-die raid for the Steelers on the other side and Vinay is tackled! Sandeep Dhull is believed to have gone past the end-line before putting in an ankle hold on Vinay. Given as a self out initially. Well, the umpires change their decision after some consultation and Vinay has been given as out in the end. However, Steelers review! They want it checked from the TV umpire. Sandeep was indeed inside and the review is unsuccessful!

22' Sandeep Dhull pounces at Vinay's ankles and with a solid double ankle hold brings the raider down!

Pawan snaps up a bonus point while Shivam Patare returns the favour with a running bonus point in front of the covers.

Pawan, meanwhile, is self out. Tries a bonus and thrusts himself towards the mid-line. However, he ends up being out of bounds.

A topsy-turvy game and it is the Telugu Titans who find themselves with a slender one-point lead courtesy of a valiant effort towards the end of the first half. Both sides were pretty watchful in the beginning and played cautiously. The raiders dealt the blows largely as the defense of both sides stayed back. Shivam Patare assumed lead-raider responsibilities for the Steelers in the absence of Siddharth Desai and he's just a few points away from his super 10 here. The Titans are playing like a unit finally and will be going into the second half brimming full of confidence. Can the Titans keep up the momentum and finally win their first match in PKL 10? On the other side, Prafull Zaware has been pinned down in a super tackle situation. However, Rahul Sethpal has stepped outside the lobby before putting in a solid ankle hold.

18' Pawan Sehrawat strikes! The left corner puts in a diving ankle hold but Pawan drags himself to the mid-line. Mohit, who had come for assistance, has to return too.

Prafull Zaware escapes from the left corner's attempted ankle hold and returns. No need for Ashish to go for the ankle hold there.

Haryana Steelers 17 - 16 Telugu Titans

16' A terrific ankle hold by Jaideep from the right cover and there is assistance straightaway! Pulls back Pawan single-handedly, does Jaideep.

Prafull Zaware leaps over Mohit's attempted ankle hold. Puts in a massive jump and returns to his half.

On the other side, Shivam is brought down as Ajit Pawar runs around and dashes the raider out of bounds.

14' Shivam Patare runs around, goes deep and gets a hand touch on the left-in defender. Rajnish has to depart.

Do-or-die raid for the Titans and Shankar Gadai is brought down. An ankle hold from Mohit and Shankar Gadai is brought down!

4' Shivam Patare strikes! Picks up a bonus point and escapes from the left cover's attempted dash. Flies through the air and crosses the mid-line.

Do-or-die raid for the Titans on the other side and Prafull Zaware strikes! Goes deep and gets a running hand touch on the left-in defender.

SUPER RAID from Shivam Patare! That's three points! Escapes from the right corner's tentative ankle hold and the covers were a little late in assistance!

2' Pawan starts off in style! Escapes from Rahul Sethpal's ankle hold and the left cover's assistance is to no avail as Pawan crosses the mid-line.

On the other side, Vinay is brought down! Omkar More runs around with a strong block and Vinay fails to turn and escape.

A bonus point is picked up by the Steelers' raider on the other side.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. The thirty-fifth match of the tournament will witness Haryana Steelers lock horns with the Telugu Titans at the SDAT Indoor Stadium, Chennai. 

The Haryana Steelers are in the midst of the dream run in this edition of PKL, having lost just their opening game. They have gone on to win their next four encounters after the game and are looking like a formidable side. Their defense is working well as a unit, with both their corners having played together at U Mumba previously while their cover combination was already set. 

The trio of Vinay, Ashish and K Prapanjan or Siddharth Desai are working well together like a three-pronged attack and are supporting each other well. Overall, looks like a very settled team and they will be looking to extend their winning streak. 

The Telugu Titans, oh what can be said about them. They went all out and invested a hefty sum to acquire the services of Indian skipper Pawan Sehrawat but whatever they had in mind in terms of their season has not materialised so far. They have lost all five matches that they have been a part of and are sitting at the bottom of the points table. 

The Titans have attempted and adopted multiple different strategies over the course of their campaign but have just failed to get over the finish line. Apart from a close loss against the Thalaivas, they never looked to be in the game in their other matches. However, it is definitely not too late for them as they can stage a turnaround from here on. Can the Titans get their first win under their belt in PKL 2023 today? Only time will tell.
