FULL TIME! Haryana Steelers 46 - 40 U Mumba

Disappointment for U Mumba in the end as they fall short despite making a massive comeback in the second half. It was the introduction of Jai Bhagwan which injected energy and some enthusiasm in the U Mumba team but plenty of errors in both raiding and defense have prevented them from pulling off a fantastic comeback win in their penultimate game. On the other hand, Vishal Tate was fantastic for the Steelers, scoring a Super 10 on debut and joining some elites in the list who have gotten points on debut. Despite playing a second-string team, the Steelers' defense was on-point once again, with Naveen picking up a High 5 while Harsh and Monu Hooda picked up 4 apiece. They will be pleased with the performance of their youngsters as they rise to the fourth position in the table with two matches to go. 

40' Do-or-die raid for the Steelers and Ghanshyam Magar comes in for it. He strikes as he escapes from the left corner's ankle hold and gets a touch on another defender on his way through too!

Shivansh Thakur escapes from the right corner's attempted ankle hold and returns after the defense was no allowing him to cross even the baulk line.

Jai Bhagwan runs around with a single-handed dash but Ghanshyam Magar returns in a flash.

In the final raid of the game, Naveen from the left corner tries an advance ankle hold on Shivansh Thakur, who disdainfully pushes him aside and returns.

Haryana Steelers 46 - 40 U Mumba

39' Alireza is brought down now as a double thigh hold from Monu from the right corner pins the raider down.

Saurav Parthe is substituted in and is tackled immediately. He tries a running hand touch on the covers and is immediately tackled as Naveen from the left corner stands tall with a block.

Haryana Steelers 43 - 38 U Mumba

37' Do-or-die raid for U Mumba and Rohit Yadav comes in for it. He tries a few toe-touches and runs out of time in the end as the centre defender Harsh runs around and dashes him out single-handedly.

Do-or-die raid for the Steelers and Vishal Tate shoulders responsibility. However, he perishes as a thigh hold from Shivansh Thakur brings him down.

Jai Bhagwan runs straight into the double thigh hold of the left corner Naveen and is pinned down.

34' Rohit Yadav goes for a back hold from the left-in position but Vishal Tate escapes and returns.

Jai Bhagwan pushes aside Monu, who had come around for a dash, and tumbles to return to the mid-line.

Shivam Patare is dashed out now as Ram Adhgale runs around from the covers and sends him packing with a dash!

32' Ghanshyam Magar is the last remaining Steelers player and he saves the all out! He's allowed the bonus point following which he escapes from Alireza's ankle hold and returns!

ALL OUT! Jai Bhagwan cleans up house! He escapes from Naveen's block and pushes him over the mid-line. With only Mohit on the court, Jai Bhagwan gets a touch on him and returns.

30' Shivam Patare is tackled as he fails to leap over Sombir's double ankle hold.

Oh audacious! A terrific ankle hold from the left corner Sombir and the Steelers raider has been single-handedly pinned down! Do-or-die raid for U Mumba and Rohit Yadav strikes! A quick toe-touch on the right corner and he returns with a point.

One of the Steelers defender steps out of bounds following which, Jai corners the two remaining defenders and gets a touch on one of them before returning. U Mumba reduce the deficit!

Haryana Steelers 36 - 31 U Mumba

27' Jai Bhagwan is tackled now as the right corner's back hold brings Jai down. But wait, the right corner had stepped into the lobby first before making contact with the raider. One point to U Mumba. There was some jersey pulling there too. However, Haryana Steelers review! They believe that the raider is out. The right corner Monu has indeed stepped into the lobby before going for the back hold. Review unsuccessful! 

Both the corners converge and tackle Vishal Tate. On the other side, Jai Bhagwan tries to burst through the corner chain but is pinned down as the defenders get a good grip. Shivam Patare, on the other hand, gets a bonus point.

Rohit Yadav leaps over the left corner's attempted double ankle hold but lands in the wrong direction. The rest of the defense piles upon him.

24' Shivam Patare picks up a bonus point and as soon as he does that, the right corner and the right-in pounce at his ankles. Support from the covers ensures he is tackled.

Jai Bhagwan powers through the chain of two defenders and returns with two points. He follows it up with another quick raid where he escapes from an ankle hold and returns.

The Steelers raider Tejas Patil is tackled as Sombir's powerful ankle hold brings him down. ALL OUT! A surrender raid as the last remaining defender Sunny pushes back Jai Bhagwan.

A similar story unfolding in the middle for U Mumba and it is a story that they have lived through in nearly each match in 2024. It was a decent start for both teams but the Steelers soon took control, inflicting two all outs to put U Mumba on the back-foot. From there on, it was only playing catch up for U Mumba. They got the Steelers down to two men on one occasion but two consecutive super raids from Vishal Tate prevented the all out. Quite a one-sided contest thus far and it might just continue the same way in the second as well unless U Mumba can pull off something special Stay tuned, we will be right back with all the action from the second half!

Haryana Steelers have now reviewed for a bonus point at the stroke of half time. Oh well, the referees have changed their decision and the bonus has been awarded to the raider.

18' Guman Singh puts in a terrific ankle hold from the left-in position to bring down Vishal Tate. That is U Mumba's first tackle point of the night! And that has come from U Mumba's lead raider Guman Singh.

16' Guman Singh snaps up a bonus point in front of the right corner defender. On the other side, Vishal escapes from the left corner's ankle hold attempt and returns.

ALL OUT! Guman is allowed the bonus point following which the left cover single-handedly dashes him out to inflict the second all out!

Vishal Tate escapes from Sombir's attempted advance ankle hold and returns. Rohit Yadav pulls a point back with a kick on the left corner.

14' SUPER RAID! Back to back super raids! Vishal Tate picks up a bonus point following which Gokulakannan comes around for a dash. However, Vishal absolutely bulldozes back to the mid-line! Oh wow how the game has turned!

On the other side, a diving double ankle hold from the left corner Naveen brings down Alireza Mirzaeian. Vishal Tate brings U Mumba down to two men as he escapes from Sombir's back-hold/dash attempt and returns.

U Mumba 11 - 22 Haryana Steelers

12' As soon as the left corner comes around for a dash, Guman Singh uses the lobby and returns. Steelers down to one man!

SUPER RAID! Vishal Tate saves the day! Picks up a bonus and follows it up with a dubki as soon as Mahender runs around for a dash. Gets another point on one of the assisting defender.

Guman Singh tumbles and drags himself back to the mid-line after the right corner put in a double ankle hold.

10' SUPER RAID! Rohit Yadav delivers a blow! That came out of nowhere! Leaps over the left corner's attempted double ankle hold and gets a couple of more defenders on the way through who were trying to assist. Vishal Tate responds with a bonus point in a situation where the Steelers are down to two men.

U Mumba 9 - 14 Haryana Steelers

8' Alireza Mirzaeian escapes from the left-in defender's attempted ankle hold and returns with a point. The defender was in two minds there. Guman escapes from Monu Hooda's attempted ankle hold and returns.

Vishal Tate runs around and picks up a running bonus point in front of the right corner defender.

U Mumba 6 - 13 Haryana Steelers

6' A solid ankle hold and Guman Singh is tackled! Did not even try to escape there. U Mumba down to one man!

ALL OUT! The last remaining Mumba defender pushes back the Steelers raider. A big lead for the Steelers early in the contest.

Rohit Yadav is tackled now as Monu Hooda runs around from the corner and stops the raider with a block.

On the other side, the Steelers raider gets a point as Sombir's ankle hold attempt is to no avail.

4' Alireza runs straight into the double thigh hold of Monu in the right corner and that completely immobilises him. Guman picks up a bonus point in front of the right corner defender in a flash.

Shivam Patare runs around and gets a touch on Bittu in the right corner. It was a quick turn and a toe-touch that did the trick. A double thigh hold from Naveen this time from the left corner brings down Rohit Yadav.

Ghanshyam Magar escapes from Mahender's diving double ankle hold and drags himself back to the mid-line.

2' As soon as Guman picks up a bonus point, the covers combine and dash him out. Harsh from the right corner with the tackle there.

A sliding toe-touch from Rohit Yadav and he sends back the right corner defender Monu.

As soon as Ghanshyam Magar sees Gokulakannan come around with a dash, he ends stepping into the lobby before the touch happens. He is dashed out but he was out first. Gokulakannan has also gone out of bounds. One point to each side.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. Match 124 of the tournament will witness an eliminated U Mumba locking horns with home team Haryana Steelers at the Tau Devilal Indoor Stadium, Panchkula. 

The Haryana Steelers have qualified after beating a young, second-string Patna Pirates team yesterday, knocking the Bengal Warriors out of contention in the process. The Steelers have been mighty impressive throughout the tournament and will have plenty of opportunity to rise up in the points table, with three matches still to play. Although they cannot make it to the playoffs, they will be hoping to win their remaining matches and take some momentum going into the eliminators.

U Mumba, on the other hand, will be seen for the penultimate time this season. It has been a campaign that promised a lot but lost steam as quickly. Plagued by a plethora of injuries, New Mumba, took up the challenge and put up a terrific fight on all occasions, only to come up short a few times. Playing their second-string team in their previous match, Shivam led from the front as the captain and notched up a Super 10. However, with the team having teased Guman Singh's return on social media, it remains to be seen whether they will be playing with their superstars for this match, not long before they sign off from this season.
