A closely-fought contest and it is the Jaipur Pink Panthers who make it a hat-trick of wins at home with this win! Arjun Deshwal starring with 11 raid points and the Pink Panthers complete the double over U Mumba. Well, one could certainly argue that U Mumba had the game in their favour multiple times but the absence of Zafardanesh and the inability to inflict the all out sees them lose this match. Jaipur Pink Panthers move to the top of the table with that win and they'll be pleased with their performance! The 1st match of PKL between these two sides was won by U Mumba but the 1001st match of PKL between the same oppositions has been won by the Pink Panthers.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. The 1001st game of PKL will witness familiar foes Jaipur Pink Panthers and U Mumba lock horns - the same opponents that played the first ever PKL match. 

The defending champions are having another terrific season and are currently placed on the second position in the points table. They have won eight games and lost only two, while two have resulted in tied encounters. The Pink Panthers are a solid unit and will be raring to get another win at home against U Mumba, who they have beaten earlier in the season please. 

With decorated players like Arjun Deshwal and Sunil Kumar in their ranks, the Pink Panthers will be up for any challenge that they will be put up against. They are in the midst of an ongoing 8-point unbeaten streak which they will be hoping to continue today. They will certainly be riding high on confidence after beating the table toppers Puneri Paltan in their previous outing. 

U Mumba, on the other hand, will be playing their first game right after their home leg, which was quite topsy-turvy. They won their first game but went on to lose the next two. However, they managed to salvage a draw in the final match of the leg in what was an absolute nail-biter against the Steelers. Revenge will be on Mumba's mind as they take on the Pink Panthers.
