A comprehensive win for the Pirates in front of their home audience and they have just been absolutely sensational in this game. They have raided brilliantly and defended well too, not allowing Mighty Maninder to go about his business. After taking a healthy lead in the first half, they just continued to build on it further and made sure that they gave absolutely nothing away to their visitors today. Sachin and Manjeet starred in the raiding department while Mayur Kadam, who came in as a replacement for Neeraj, notched up a High 5. The Warriors were pretty clueless and were taken by surprise. Their net run rate takes a massive hit with this too and their topsy-turvy season continues. As for the Pirates, they will hope that this is the start of a terrific home leg. 

40' Do-or-die raid for the Pirates and Sachin perishes as Shubham runs around with a block and stops him in his tracks. Maninder Singh escapes from Krishan Dhull's double thigh hold and tumbles to cross the mid-line.

Manjeet snaps up a bonus point as the Warriors defense hangs back. Maninder Singh, on the other side, gets a hand touch on Ankit Jaglan and returns.

32' Maninder Singh snaps up a bonus point in front of the left corner. On the other side, it is another two-pointer for Manjeet as he sends back the duo of Jaskirat and Vaibhav, who had come around for an attempted dash.

30' Do-or-die raid for the Pirates and Sachin has a multi-point raid! His speed causes Jaskirat Singh to go out of bounds. He then proceeds to wrestle with Vaibhav Garje and return. Warriors are down to one man!

There have just been far too many errors from the Bengal Warriors defense, which has been their biggest problem. Adding to that has been Maninder Singh's lack to score today, with the ace raider having picked up just a single point today. The Pirates' raiders are making merry, with Sachin, Manjeet and Sandeep doing the damage. A healthy lead for the Pirates and they will want to build on it further. Ankit Jaglan runs around with a back-hold and Maninder Singh is brought down as there is assistance. Mayur Kadam's momentum takes him out of the mat.

Sandeep Kumar puts in a swift toe-touch on Aditya Shinde in the left corner and returns in a flash.

16' Do-or-die raid for the Warriors and Maninder Singh strikes! He picks his first point of the night. Gets a hand touch on Mayur Kadam in the right corner.

Manjeet leaps through the air and gets a hand touch on Vaibhav Garje in the right cover. Bengal's defense is leaking points.

8' Sachin lunges forward and gets a hand touch on Jaskirat Singh in the right cover. Maninder Singh, on the other side, is tackled as Mayur Kadam runs around and puts on a block once again.

Sandeep Kumar runs around and tries a running hand touch on Shubham Shinde. Was a close one but it is given to the Pirates.

6' Manjeet is a touch tentative in his movement and Shubham Shinde does not need any second invitation to put in a thigh hold and bring him down.

Do-or-die raid for the Warriors and Nitin Singh strikes! Entices Ankit Jaglan into going for the ankle hold but escapes in a flash.

Bengal Warriors 3 - 4 Patna Pirates

4' Shubham Shinde puts in a solid block on Sachin while the rest of the defense run around and dash the raider out.

Maninder Singh is tackled as the right cover puts in a double thigh hold and completely immobilises the raider.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League 2023/24. Match 89 of the tournament will witness Patna Pirates take on the Bengal Warriors at the Pataliputra Indoor Stadium, Patna. 

The Pirates begin their home leg today and will be keen on getting a win under their belt to kick-off their first of four games in Patna. They ended their four-match winless streak in their previous fixture against the UP Yoddhas, edging past them by 3 points to seal the deal. The Pirates will be looking to generate some winning momentum as well as they look to break into the top six. Under the leadership of Sachin now, who's replaced an injured Neeraj as captain, the Pirates will be hoping to make the most of their home leg. 

The Bengal Warriors, on the other hand, have blown hot and cold throughout the season. They have been a team that has the potential to do well but have not been able to remain consistent. They have had winning streaks but those have been followed up immediately with losing streaks as well. With Maninder Singh leading the charge and an inexperienced yet assertive defense at their disposal, the Warriors will be roaring to pull off a win and break into the top six.
