Patna Pirates 37 - 38 Dabang Delhi KC

That was some second half from the Pirates who came out flying, but Delhi did just enough to disrupt their momentum, and the timeout they called with about one minute left to play was crucial in helping them manage time towards the end.

It was all Delhi in the first half, with Ashu Malik and Manjeet bringing in the raid points, and Ashish leading a stellar defensive effort. While the defense continued their good game in the second half, the Pirates' defense was much better and kept Manjeet and Meetu quiet, with Ashu left to soldier on alone towards his Super 10. Yogesh had a great game and picked up a High 5, with Ashish also scoring four tackle points.

For the Pirates, Sachin and Sudhakar had a spring in their step in the 2nd half, and while the former did get tackled a lot, it was his Super Raid that got the Pirates within touching distance of Delhi. He finished with a Super 10 as Sudhakar also impressed, scoring 9 raid points in the match. Ankit in the left corner had a much better 2nd half, but a couple of cheap points conceded made the difference for them in the end.

That was the perfect start to the Mumbai leg, and up next, the home team, U Mumba lock horns with the Bengaluru Bulls. Catch the live coverage of that match by clicking here. Until next time, this is Shreyas signing off!
2nd Half, 40'
Patna Pirates 37 - 38 Dabang Delhi KC

Sudhakar does his best to keep the Pirates in this with a couple of quick points, and with three men on the mat for Delhi and 52 seconds to play, they still have a chance.

The Pirates give Delhi a real run for their money, but astute time management clinches it for Delhi, just about! With 25 seconds left to play, Yogesh simply pushes Sudhakar past the mid-line, and with the deficit at 2, Ashu is content to kill time in the last raid, and while he's tackled, it makes little difference to the result.

Delhi win and move to 2nd on the points table.
2nd Half, 39'
Patna Pirates 33 - 38 Dabang Delhi KC

Sudhakar's running hand touch brings the deficit back down to four, and with around 100 seconds left to play, Delhi call a timeout now. A do-or-die raid follows immediately after.

However, Ashu steps up and delivers with a running hand touch on Neeraj Kumar to get to his Super 10. The Delhi captain has led from the front!
2nd Half, 38'
Patna Pirates 32 - 37 Dabang Delhi KC

Ashish has had Sachin's number throughout the day, however, and Sachin goes too deep on the left side, and Ashish makes no mistake. Delhi will put in longer raids from now on and look to kill time. Patna need points and they need them quick. Multi-point raids are of the essence here.
2nd Half, 37'
Patna Pirates 32 - 36 Dabang Delhi KC

We're in for a stellar finish to this match. Four points the difference and a little over three minutes left to play as the Pirates call a timeout. Delhi have four men on the mat, and one point for them could really open up the contest.

Having Sachin Tanwar, who's an expert in 1v4 situations will certainly give them confidence.
2nd Half, 36'
Patna Pirates 32 - 36 Dabang Delhi KC

Patna tackle Manjeet in a Do-or-die situation, but Delhi review for a bonus point. Given the success rate today, you'd expect the decision to be overturned, and guess what. It is!

Third successful review today and Delhi get their bonus point which could make all the difference today.
2nd Half, 34'
Patna Pirates 29 - 35 Dabang Delhi KC

Just when it looked like Patna would get back in the game, a quick raid point from Ashu Malik and Yogesh's 5th tackle point of the night increases the deficit to six. It's been a great evening for the tall right corner, who has had the number of Sachin Tanwar throughout.
2nd Half, 32'
Patna Pirates 29 - 33 Dabang Delhi KC

The Pirates have a chance to put a real foot back into the match, but Ashu Malik holds his nerve in the do-or-die raid to ride the challenge from Krishan on the way to the mid-line.

However, Sachin Tanwar puts in a massive Super Raid, escaping from Ashish's ankle hold, and the Pirates are right back in this! Sachin is unbelievably quick, but even by his standards, the escape from deep in the left corner to the mid-line was brilliant to watch.
2nd Half, 30'
Patna Pirates 26 - 32 Dabang Delhi KC

Sachin Tanwar is brought down by another solid block from Yogesh, but Sudhakar revives him with a hefty running hand touch on the left corner right at the stroke of half-time.

With ten minutes left to play and six points the deficit, we could be in for a real nail-biter!
2nd Half, 29'
Patna Pirates 25 - 31 Dabang Delhi KC

Delhi staring at an all-out, but surprisingly, Vishal Bhardwaj picks up a raid point against Krishan Dhull, who was caught in two minds. Sachin Tanwar gets another opportunity to seal the deal and he doesn't disappoint as the Pirates finally register the all-out, bringing the deficit down to 6. Game on now!
2nd Half, 27'
Patna Pirates 19 - 29 Dabang Delhi KC

Yogesh puts in a couple of terrific tackles to bring down both Sachin and Manjeet, but on both occasions, a defender also leaving the field of play leads to a point each being awarded.

Sachin Tanwar claims a touch on the left corner with a kick in a 1v4 situation and proceeds to review when it isn't given.

And the review is successful, some day this! Both teams getting their reviews right!
2nd Half, 24'
Patna Pirates 16 - 27 Dabang Delhi KC

The Pirates do well to string some points together. Sachin scores his 5th raid point of the night after getting away from Mohit. The Pirates' defense then finally show some restraint and score a tackle point in a Do-or-die raid situation, with Meetu running right into Manish's block.
2nd Half, 22'
Patna Pirates 14 - 27 Dabang Delhi KC

Ashu Malik adds to his tally after a neat escape from Manjeet's attempted tackle, but Sachin starts the half positively by targeting Manjeet in the right-in position with a running hand touch.
Half Time
Patna Pirates 13 - 26 Dabang Delhi KC

The scoreline is an accurate representation of how this game has gone. Dabang Delhi KC were on the money right from the start and with Ashu Malik ably supported by Manjeet, they were always going to prove to be a handful for the Pirates defense. It didn't help that Patna conceded freebies, with three self-outs in the first ten minutes. Krishan is the only defender who has looked assured for the Pirates, and the rest of the team need to step up.

At the other end, Ashish has been pitch-perfect in the left corner, and Sachin needs to win his battle with the Delhi left corner if the Pirates want to make their way back into this.

A 13-point lead is never the end of the day in kabaddi, and the Pirates certainly have it in them to make a comeback. Can they? Find out as the second half coming right up!
1st Half, 20'
Patna Pirates 13 - 26 Dabang Delhi KC

Meetu Sharma comes in with an unnecessary advanced tackle to concede a cheap point to Sudhakar M, but Manjeet ensures that doesn't matter with a beautiful dubki.

The right raider goes in deep toward the left corner, anticipates a chain tackle, and perfectly dives under the onrushing cover chain to make it to the mid-line. The referees award two points, but Delhi want three and review the decision.

And they get their way.
The review is successful, and it's a Super Raid for Manjeet. Sudhakar pulls one back for the Pirates before the whistle blows for half-time. It's been all Delhi so far and the Pirates need to do way better, especially in defense.
1st Half, 18'
Patna Pirates 11 - 23 Dabang Delhi KC

Patna's defense simply isn't clicking today, and they continue leaking points, predominantly from the left side of defense. Sachin Tanwar is brought down once again by Ashish as Delhi keep extending their lead.
1st Half, 16'
Patna Pirates 10 - 20 Dabang Delhi KC

Ashu Malik has been unstoppable so far, and he reduces the Pirates down to one. Sandeep Kumar can only get a bonus point on his raid as Delhi secure the second all-out of the match, and we aren't even at half-time.
1st Half, 15'
Patna Pirates 8 - 16 Dabang Delhi KC

The Pirates go down to three after Sudhakar M is brought down by Yogesh Dahiya, but they do well to create a Do-or-die raid opportunity for their defense. Ashu Malik is too good under pressure, however, and he works the defense well and gets them all to one side, tagging the tall manjeet easily.
1st Half, 12'
Patna Pirates 8 - 14 Dabang Delhi KC

Ankit in that left corner has had a tough start to the match and Ashu's quick feet doesn't make it any easier. He entices the ankle hold before quickly retreating to the mid-line with an easy point. At the other end, Sachin Tanwar almost gets a multi-point raid, almost being the operative word, as he's brought down right in the nick of time.

A quick running hand touch from Manjeet makes it three quick points for Delhi, and they have their 6-point lead back.
1st Half, 10'
Patna Pirates 8 - 11 Dabang Delhi KC

Three quick points for the Pirates and suddenly it doesn't look as bad as it did only a minute ago. That's how quickly this sport changes. Manjeet and Sachin race across the court to pick up touch points, with another solid Krishan Dhull tackle in the right corner sandwiched in between them.

As we head into the first timeout of this match, this game is poised really well. Can the Pirates hit back or will Delhi extend their lead?
1st Half, 9'
Patna Pirates 5 - 11 Dabang Delhi KC

First all-out of the match and it goes the way of Dabang Delhi KC. The Pirates were shooting themselves in the foot with three self-outs, and with two men on the mat, Sachin was brought down in a do-or-die raid, and it's Delhi who have the wind behind their sails early on.
1st Half, 8'
Patna Pirates 5 - 7 Dabang Delhi KC

Ashu Malik puts in a two-point raid, with the Pirates indulging in another self-out, this time Manish Dhull is the culprit. In fact, make that three. The Pirates are leaking points in defense and they aren't even making the raiders work for it.
1st Half, 6'
Patna Pirates 5 - 4 Dabang Delhi KC

Sudhakar M picks up a couple of handy bonus points to keep the scoreboard ticking for the Pirates. Manjeet runs straight into the right corner in a 1v4 situation as the Pirates take a 1-point lead. There's a nice flow and momentum to this game.
1st Half, 4'
Patna Pirates 2 - 4 Dabang Delhi KC

Ashish gets the first tackle point of the match with an ankle hold on Manjeet before Ankit's self-out gifts a point to Delhi. Meetu opens his account with a swift toe touch on the Pirates' skipper who's deputizing at left corner.
1st Half, 1'
Patna Pirates 1 - 1 Dabang Delhi KC

Ashu Malik strikes in his very first raid with a diving hand touch on Krishan Dhull. Sachin Tanwar wastes no time in hitting back with a quick burst of pace to tag the right cover. Fast start this.

Good evening, and welcome to Sportskeeda's coverage of the tenth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. We're here at the Dome in NSCI in Mumbai, awaiting the first match of the Mumbai leg of PKL 10 between the Patna Pirates and Dabang Delhi KC.

This should be an evenly-matched contest between two sides in the top half of the points table. The Patna Pirates have won five out of their nine matches and are on a two-game winning streak entering this match. Sachin Tanwar has, as always, impressed in the raiding department, with Manjeet and Sudhakar M supporting him well.

However, the defense has blown hot and cold, with Krishan Dhull the only consistent performer. Neeraj Kumar and Ankit have done well in some matches, but in the games where they've gone missing, the Pirates have leaked lots of points.

Dabang Delhi KC have fared pretty well even without captain Naveen Kumar, with Ashu Malik deputizing well both as the captain and as the leader of the raiding department. They're placed 4th on the points table with five wins and a tie in nine matches and are unbeaten in their last four games.

Ashu has received decent support from Manjeet and Meetu Sharma, but it's their robust defending that has helped them win matches, with both the corners Yogesh Dahiya and Ashish putting in impressive shifts in most matches.

This should be a high-octane and intense clash between two quality sides that should keep you on the edge of your seats.
