A massive win for the Patna Pirates and it will do their confidence a world of good as they march on. Leading at half time, the Pirates were solid in the second half and only went on to extend their lead. The Steelers looked pretty clueless for the entirety of the contest, especially in the second half where they ran out of ideas and just accepted their fate. A poor showing from the Steelers and they will surely be disappointed. The Pirates march on with five valuable points and more importantly, a huge boost to their points difference too! 

40' A back hold from Mohit as soon as Sachin attempts a bonus point and he gets a good grip to bring him down!

Neeraj tries an ankle hold on Vinay, who escapes and returns.

A closely-fought contest as both sides have confided in their defense to get the points. The Steelers got off to a good start but the Pirates were at their heels the entire time. The Pirates were reduced to three men on multiple occasions but the Steelers failed to inflict the all out, which proved to be one of the biggest mistakes that they have made in this game. The Pirates put in super tackles and staved off the all out, and following some good raiding, inflicted an all out on the Steelers to assume the lead. It is still neck-and-neck but momentum is on the Pirates' side. Which team will get over the line? Stick around to find out!

Shivam Patare is brought down now as Krishan Dhull puts in a solid back-hold and almost single-handedly brings him down.

18' Vinay goes deep and gets a hand touch. On the other side, Manjeet uses his height to send back Mohit Nandal from the cover position.

SUPER RAID! Shivam Patare picks up a bonus point and escapes Krishan Dhull's ankle hold. Gets a touch on the cover defender on the way back too!

16' Do-or-die raid for the Pirates and Sudhakar M has been sent in for it. And he strikes big! Jaideep and Ashish run around with a chain but Sudhakar bursts through it and crosses the mid-line to return with two points!

Do-or-die raid for the Steelers now and Shivam Patare has been substituted in for it. He is allowed the bonus point but after that, a double thigh hold from Ankit Jaglan brings Patare down.

ALL OUT! It is a surrender raid on the other side as Rahul Sethpal pushes the raider back.

14' Do-or-die raid for the Steelers and Prapanjan perishes! Goes deep in hopes of a touch and a double thigh hold from Neeraj from the left-in position brings him down! It is a SUPER TACKLE!

12' SUPER TACKLE! Sachin from the in position puts in a surprise double ankle hold and Vinay cannot drag himself back to the mid-line.

Vinay, meanwhile, runs around and gets a running hand touch on the right corner to reduce the Pirates down to one man.

OH! Sachin the saviour for the Pirates and he staves off an all out. Escapes from Mohit's ankle hold and gets the cover Mohit on his way through too!

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. Match 45 of the tournament will witness the Patna Pirates lock horns with the Haryana Steelers at the Noida Indoor Stadium. 

The Patna Pirates have not had the best of campaigns so far. They find themselves placed ninth in the points table, having managed only three wins from the seven matches that they have been a part of. The onus will lie on Sachin to do the bulk of the damage in the raiding while the defenders will need to work together to keep the Steelers' raiders down. They have had a largely topsy-turvy campaign and will be looking to get some sort of winning momentum going. 

Facing the Pirates today will be the Haryana Steelers - who have had a much, much better campaign in comparison. They find themselves placed fourth with five wins from seven encounters. The Steelers surprisingly lost to the Telugu Titans but bounced back well to seal a win against the Tamil Thalaivas. They will need to find a way of continuing to play their aggressive brand of kabaddi if they are to win today against a hungry Pirates side.
