FULL-TIME Patna Pirates 28-29 Jaipur Pink Panthers

A comeback for the ages for Jaipur Pink Panthers. They were almost out of the game in the first 10 minutes itself. Patna were clear favorites to win after the end of the first half with a lead of eight points. Arjun Deshwal didn't have an ideal game for Jaipur and was substituted out. However, Ajith took the responsibility on his shoulders and brought Jaipur back in the game.

He recorded 14 raid points and also an important Super Tackle over Sachin which was the turning point of the match. Reza, Lucky, and Ankush were decent it defense but it was Ajith's day.

Meanwhile, for Patna, no one really clicked. Sandeep showed some promise but it was not enough as they lose by just one point. End of a thriller and we now move to U Mumba vs Tamil Thalaivas.

Ajith is once again in and gets a point. Attempted a running hand touch at the left corner. However, the right corner tried to block him on his way out but Ajith was quick enough to escape. Gets two points. Patna have reviewed it though claiming it's just one point. 

The review is unsuccessful and Ajith gets two.

Do or die raid for Ajith but he finally tackled. Neeraj initiated a double thigh hold and gets support from Sandeep and other teammates. 

Lucky replies as he tackles Sachin at the right corner with an ankle hold/

Bhavani comes as a sub but is sent back immediately courtesy of a dash from Neeraj at the right cover. 

Ajith is in the form of his life as he gets another one and this time gets the left corner.

Sudhakar is also sent back as Bhavani tries an ankle hold and gets support from Lucky and Ankush.

Ajith has kept Jaipur in the game. They were on the verge of an all-out but he didn't back down from a fight. First in raid and then in defense with a Super Tackle he pushed the Pirates on the back foot.

SUPER TACKLE!! A do or die raid for Sachin but Ajith with his ankle hold gets a Super Tackle. 

Ajith is the lone warrior for Panthers as he gets another point with an escape from Manish.

Ajith gets a bonus under right corner and Sachin follows it up with a touch over Reza the left corner.

Arjun needs a point here in do or die raid but doesn't gets one. Attempts a jump over right corner but the team was quick enough to tackle him.

Sandeep once again comes in absence of Sachin and gets another point sending Ankush back with a kick at the left corner.

Ajith gets a running hand touch over Sachin at left in but Neeraj tries to dash him out from the right corner. However Ajith escapes and gets two points for Jaipur. 

Meanwhile, Sandeep claims a running hand touch over Sunil at the right corner but the latter denies it and has reviewed the decision. The third umpire gives the decision in favor of Patna and Sunil has to go back. 

And we are back for the second half. Jaipur will raid first and it is Ajith who starts for them.

HALF-TIME: Patna Pirates 16-8 Jaipur Pink Panthers

A perfect start to the game for Patna Pirates. Both teams initially depended on empty raids but Sachin drew the first blood and then Patna was all over Jaipur. They inflicted an all-out and got a decent lead. The defenders managed to keep Arjun quiet who later made a comeback in the last few minutes.

Sandeep Kumar gave decent support to Sachin in the raiding department whereas Jaipur struggled in both aspects. The Panthers need to stay calm and aim for a comeback now.

A jump from Ajith over Ankit at the left corner and he gets a point for Jaipur. He follows it up with an empty raid to end the first half.

ALL OUT!!! And Sachin inflicts the first all-out over Jaipur. Lucky tried hold his ankle but Sachin was quick enough to escape. He got the other defender as well in the process. 

A dominating start for the Pirates. Just what they wanted. Jaipur needs to regroup.

Bhavani Rajput is substituted in for do-or-die raid but is unsuccessful as he gets blocked at the right cover.

Meanwhile, Sandeep gets two points for Patna as he escapes from Sunil and Sahul.

Arjun attempts a running hand touch over the right corner but is dashed out Neeraj Kumar at the left cover.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of Pro Kabaddi League 2023. In the Match 27 of the season, we'll see three-time champions Patna Pirates go against defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers. It's going to be a battle between the two most successful teams of PKL. 

Talking about the performance so far in the tournament, Patna Pirates haven't really performed as per their standards. They see themselves at the seventh spot with two wins and as many losses. The Pirates did start their season with two consecutive wins but couldn't continue the momentum in their last two. 

They recently lost against U Mumba 42-40 here at the same stadium in Pune and will now look to make a statement with a win over the Panthers. 

Meanwhile, Jaipur Pink Panthers' title defense hasn't been as expected. Despite having one of the most balanced squads, the Panthers haven't found ideal results. They have won just one of their four games while losing two and tying one. 

Their most recent game was a close 32-30 loss against Bengaluru Bulls. 

Both teams have a point to prove and they surely have the armory to pull off a win. It'll be interesting to see who comes out on top and takes away the win.
