Puneri Paltan 60 - 29 Telugu Titans

The Telugu Titans have put in some commendable performances this season even when the odds were completely against them, such as their close 35-38 defeat to the Jaipur Pink Panthers a couple of weeks ago.

However, this was not such a day, and in fact, for most of the match, they looked listless against a Puneri Paltan onslaught that just kept on going. Akash Shinde was the only Pune player to not get subbed off, and he rewarded the coaches' faith in him with a Super 10.

However, Pune was in such a comfortable position by half-time that they pretty much played a second-string team for the 2nd half, still walking away with a 31-point win.

There were very few positives for the Titans to take away from this match, and Sanjeevi's late raiding display was chief among them. He has shown that he's a quality raider on many occasions now, and he should be raiding more often.

A one-sided affair from start to finish in this single-header on Tuesday night. The PKL returns with a double-header tomorrow to close out this Patna leg, and both matches should be really tight encounters. Until then, this is Shreyas signing off! Good Night!
2nd Half, 40'
Puneri Paltan 60 - 29 Telugu Titans

Sanjeevi S does it again, and he'll be really pleased with his efforts in this 2nd half. Escapes with another multi-point raid and it triggers another mini-collapse for the Paltan, who're reduced to two on the mat.

However, Akash Shinde's swift toe touch on Pawan Sehrawat avoids a 2nd late all-out, with Sanjeevi's acrobatic effort in a 1v3 situation deemed unsuccessful as he enters the lobby without a touch.

And after what would've seemed like a lifetime for the Titans, the final whistle blows to bring this absolute drubbing to a close. A 31-point win for the Paltan who take their place back at the top of the points table.
2nd Half, 39'
Puneri Paltan 57 - 24 Telugu Titans

Sanjeevi S has saved the Titans' blushes here, and he puts in the 2nd Super Raid of the match with a brilliant escape from Vahid's challenge. They then get their 1st all-out of the match as Akash Shinde runs into Ankit in the left corner, but not before picking up a bonus point to get his Super 10.
2nd Half, 38'
Puneri Paltan 56 - 18 Telugu Titans

Vahid RezaEimehr, a defender who has hardly seen any game-time all season, puts in the most confident of diving ankle holds to bring Pawan Sehrawat down in a Super Tackle situation. They then follow it up with another defensive point as Ratan G loses balance and enters the lobby without a touch.
2nd Half, 37'
Puneri Paltan 51 - 17 Telugu Titans

Well, the defending has been better from the Titans in the 2nd half, and Milad Jabbari has been the architect behind that, picking up his 4th tackle point of the night with a crunching knee hold on Nitin.

Mohammadreza Chiyaneh is also subbed off as the entire Paltan starting 7 barring Akash Shinde have been replaced, providing ample game-time to the rest of their bench.

The Titans make the most of it to pull some points back for their side.
2nd Half, 34'
Puneri Paltan 50 - 15 Telugu Titans

Well, the Titans aren't going to make it easy for them. Shankar Gadai showcasing his all-round abilities, using a quick burst of pace to get the running hand touch on the right-in. Akash Shinde then loses his footing, stepping into the lobby in a do-or-die raid.

However, the Paltan never go long without scoring a point, with the substitute right corner Dadaso Pujari coming in with a solid challenge.
The highest margin of victory in the PKL is the Bengaluru Bulls' 40-point win over the UP Yoddhas. Can the Paltan set a new record here?
2nd Half, 32'
Puneri Paltan 49 - 13 Telugu Titans

This is almost getting embarrassing for the Telugu Titans as the Hi-Flyer tries the jump, but that wall of Gaurav Khatri and the substitute Nitin in that right corner is too tall for him to scale. Gaurav then adds to his tally with another monstrous block to stop Ratan G from advancing to the mid-line.

At the other end, finally some joy for the Telugu Titans as a well-timed diving knee hold from Milad Jabbari helps them keep Nitin down in a Super Tackle situation.
2nd Half, 30'
Puneri Paltan 47 - 11 Telugu Titans

An almost nonchalant ankle hold from Gaurav Khatri leads to the 2nd timeout of the match. With ten minutes to play, how far will the Paltan extend their lead?
2nd Half, 29'
Puneri Paltan 45 - 11 Telugu Titans

Sanjeevi S uses his brute strength to outmuscle Gaurav Khatri as the right corner attempts an advance tackle before using his pace to get Akash Shinde. However, the Paltan score points at a really quick pace, with Aditya Shinde and Mohit Goyat shining in the raiding department, with Gaurav Khatri coming alive in this 2nd half.

And just like that, the 4th all-out of the match comes about, and the Titans just want this game to be over as soon as possible.
2nd Half, 26'
Puneri Paltan 38- 9 Telugu Titans

Akash Shinde has taken his opportunity brilliantly here and is getting really close to his Super 10, putting in the first Super Raid of the match.

The tackle comes in from Parvesh Bhainswal, but it's close enough to the mid-line, and Akash has his wits about him, extending his right hand past the mid-line, taking the two corners with him.
2nd Half, 24'
Puneri Paltan 35 - 9 Telugu Titans

Second tackle point for the Titans, and it's Milad Jabbari with an iron-clad grip on Mohit Goyat's ankle in a do-or-die raid. That was a great challenge from him as Mohit was racing across the mat, and the timing had to be perfect.

At the other end, Ratan G gets a touch on Gaurav Khatri with a running hand touch, but the right corner is confident that there was no touch and reviews.

The TV umpire finds enough evidence to overturn the decision and since Ratan confidently steps into the lobby, he has to make his way back to the bench.
2nd Half, 22'
Puneri Paltan 34 - 8 Telugu Titans

The 3rd all-out of the match awaits the Titans in the first raid of the half as Shadloui nears his High 5 with a confident double ankle hold against a leaping Robin Choudhary.

Finally some joy for the Titans after the all-out as Shankar Gadai in the right corner puts in a well-timed ankle hold on the substitute Aditya Shinde to get their 1st tackle point of the night.

However, he's quickly revived as Mohammadreza Chiyaneh wins the battle with Pawan Sehrawat once again with an ankle hold as he reaches his High 5.
The Paltan have realized how comfortably they're leading this and provide game-time to a couple of youngsters, with Aslam Inamdar, Abinesh Nadarajan, and Sanket Sawant also getting a rest.
Half-Time
Puneri Paltan 29 - 6 Telugu Titans

Absolutely one-way traffic here at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium as the Telugu Titans' misery continues. Their defending has been horrid and they have 0 tackle points going into half-time, and the likes of Parvesh Bhainswal and Hamid Nader need to put their hands up and lead the unit in this 2nd half.

For the Paltan, nearly everything has gone right, with Mohit Goyat and Akash Shinde stellar in the raiding department, with Abinesh Nadarajan having an absolutely flawless game in that right cover position, already getting to his High 5. Records could be broken in this 2nd half if this game proceeds in a similar manner.

Do the Titans have some fight left in them? We'll find out over the next 20 minutes. The 2nd half coming right up!
1st Half, 20'
Puneri Paltan 29 - 6 Telugu Titans

The Telugu Titans are yet to score a single tackle point in this match, and their defense seems to be bereft of any confidence. It shows when Mohit Goyat's quick change of direction catches Ankit off-guard as the Titans go down to two.

While they manage to hold off for a minute, Robin Choudhary goes into a do-or-die raid in the final raid before half-time, and Abinesh Nadarajan puts no foot wrong with another monstrous block to get to his High 5.

The Paltan take a whopping 24-point lead into the break, and it could be much more in the 2nd half. Can the Titans do some damage control?
1st Half, 18'
Puneri Paltan 27 - 6 Telugu Titans

Mohammadreza Chiyaneh tries his hand at raiding, and executes his running hand touch to perfection, adding to the Titans' misery. Abinesh then goes in with a ferocious block-hold on Sanjeevi S.

Ratan G also can't catch a break as Mohammadreza Chiyaneh's vice grip is too hard to get away from. The Titans are down to three once again, and we might well see a 3rd all-out before half-time.
1st Half, 16'
Puneri Paltan 24 - 6 Telugu Titans

Pawan Sehrawat is 0/2 against Abinesh Nadarajan as the right cover puts in another well-timed dash to send the Titans' captain back to the bench. He has been wonderful this season has Abinesh Nadarajan, and he's showing his class here.
1st Half, 15'
Puneri Paltan 22 - 6 Telugu Titans

The Titans stare at another all-out as Aslam Inamdar has an easy job in a 1v3 situation, escaping from a weak challenge from Pawan Sehrawat.

Mohit Goyat soon reduces them to one, and it's pretty much a formality when Milad Jabbari goes into raid as Mohammadreza Chiyaneh waits with open arms as the entire defense converges on him to register the 2nd all-out of the match.

This could be a long night for the Telugu Titans as the Paltan are showing no mercy!
1st Half, 12'
Puneri Paltan 17 - 5 Telugu Titans

The Telugu Titans force the do-or-die raid for the Paltan, but don't have the defensive resilience to back that decision. Mohit Goyat was the raider who took the onus on himself, and while Ajit Pawar put in a pretty solid challenge, it was too close to the mid-line, and despite support arriving, Mohit used his agility to good effect to quickly cross the mid-line with two points.

At the other end, Sanjeevi S does well to use his pace to great effect to hurry the Paltan defense into making an error from Aslam Inamdar in their do-or-die raid.

Akash Shinde hits back immediately, though, with a solid running hand touch on Hamid Nader. He has four points in four raids, good start this from him.
1st Half, 10'
Puneri Paltan 14 - 4 Telugu Titans

Akash Shinde and Mohit Goyat seem to be in the zone today for the Paltan's raiding department, with the Titans' defense unable to get anywhere close to tackling them.

At the other end, Ratan G is brought down by a scrappy, yet effective challenge initiated by Mohammadreza Shadloui, before the rest of the defense pounce on him in a flash.

A couple of quiet raids lead to the first timeout of the match, and as expected, it's all Pune so far. Can the Titans prevent the Paltan extending their lead before half-time?
1st Half, 8'
Puneri Paltan 12 - 4 Telugu Titans

It was only a matter of time before this happened and the Paltan have an all-out in the first 7 minutes of the match as Pawan Sehrawat is completely blindsided by Gaurav Khatri's challenge, and the Paltan take a 9-point lead early on.

However, he scores a couple of quick points post the all-out, drawing a couple of false challenges from Sanket Sawant and Gaurav Khatri.
1st Half, 6'
Puneri Paltan 8 - 1 Telugu Titans

This time, Aslam Inamdar makes no mistake in defense, timing his ankle hold to perfection, and catching Sanjeevi S off guard in a do-or-die raid.

At the other end, Akash Shinde opens his account, with a neat escape in a Super Tackle situation against a very weak tackle attempt from Ajit Pawar and Ankit.

Suddenly, the Titans are staring at an early all-out.
1st Half, 4'
Puneri Paltan 5 - 1 Telugu Titans

Ratan G can't do it twice in a row, and once again, it's Abinesh Nadarajan who comes in with a perfectly timed chain tackle to stop him right in his tracks. At the other end, Mohit Goyat seems to be in his element as he puts in a diving hand touch to catch the retreating Omkar More in a do-or-die raid.
1st Half, 2'
Puneri Paltan 3 - 1 Telugu Titans

Stellar start for the Paltan, with Aslam allowed to get the easiest of bonus points in the opening raid. At the other end, his opposite number is helpless as Abinesh Nadarajan runs around with a solid block-dash with Sanket Sawant in tow.

Aslam then claims a touch on Hamid Nader, and while the defender denies it, the point is awarded the way of the Paltan. The Titans finally open their account as Ratan G gets the running hand touch on Aslam in the right-in, and while the Pune captain is adamant that there's no touch, the referees think otherwise.
Aslam Inamdar to start the proceedings, and we're underway at Patna.
Toss Update: Telugu Titans win the toss and choose court. The Paltan to raid first.

Preview

Good evening and welcome to Sportskeeda's coverage of PKL Season 10. We're into the penultimate day of the Patna leg of the season, and it's the Puneri Paltan and the Telugu Titans who'll face off in the lone clash tonight at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium.

On paper, the Paltan win this match hands down, but the beauty of the PKL is that upsets are way too common, and no team or player can ever take anything for granted. That being said, Aslam Inamdar's side will back themselves to register another dominant win, and with it, move to the top of the points table once more. Mohit Goyat's form in the raiding department is something that has dipped over the course of the season, and he'll want to arrest that slide as soon as possible.

For the Titans, being eliminated from the playoffs race might be a blessing in disguise as they may have the freedom to play some talented youngsters and unearth some future talents. Pawan Sehrawat has been waging a lone battle for them, but even he'll find it tough to breach this Paltan defense.

No matter what it seems on the surface, an interesting contest awaits us, and I, Shreyas, will take you through all the action that unfolds.
