A clinical performance in all departments of the game and they have been simply better than their opponents today! From the trio of Aslam, Mohit, Pankaj to their defense in Shadloui, ABinesh, Sanket and Gaurav - all members have contributed well. 

U Mumba had an attempt at a comeback, inflicting an all out but despite inflicting it, faced a massive deficit of nearly ten points. Pune kept on maintaining the lead and extended it by inflicting another all out on U Mumba. Second match on the trot where U Mumba's defense has just not been upto the mark. They will need to have a long and hard think about their strategies ahead of their next game while the Puneri Paltan jump up in the points table. 

40' Jai Bhagwan picks up a bonus point as the defense hangs back. Mohit Goyat runs down the clock and returns to finish the contest.

U Mumba's defense is pretty awry to say the least. They have just not been upto the mark and it might be the defense which could prove to be their undoing once again. Just three tackle points in the first half and they have absolutely gifted points as well courtesy of self-outs. They will be relying on their raiders to do the job.

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. Action has shifted to the Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore and Day 1 will finish with an exciting Maharashtrian Derby as Puneri Paltan take on U Mumba. 

Puneri Paltan have gotten off the mark in style, getting the better of defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers in a rematch of the season 9 final. Despite being a close game, Pune seemed to be pretty dominant. With the addition of the aggressive Shadloui to the side, their young team is filled with exuberance and a commitment to do well. 

Aslam Inamdar starred with a super 10 while Mohit Goyat played his role of being second fiddle perfectly. Every defender scored and that will be one of the biggest positives for the Paltan. They will definitely start as favourites in this contest and although traditionally U Mumba holds the edge over them in head-to-head, the Paltan have been more successful in the recent past. 

U Mumba, on the other hand, had a mixed start to their campaign. They played a terrific opening game against the UP Yoddhas and sealed a nervy win. However, in their second match against the Gujarat Giants, they failed to hold their nerves in the key moments and allowed a super raid after scores were tied in the final minute of the game. 

While the defense let the side down in the previous match, the raiding stepped up. Raiding has been U Mumba's biggest positive so far. Amirmohammad Zafardanesh has emerged as their lead raider. He is quick on his feet and has unsettled the opposition defense. Guman Singh has chipped in with points as well, while Pranay Rane's energetic raids after being substituted in have been effective. They will be looking to pull off an upset against the Paltan, who look just a bit better on paper.
