FULL TIME! Haryana Steelers 42 - 29 Tamil Thalaivas

A stellar performance from the Steelers as they return to winning ways and grab their fifth win of the tournament. A win that came pretty comfortably to them too! They were leading at half time and in the second half, they did well to extend that. They were faced with the threat of being all out multiple times but some immaculate super tackles from them ensured that they staved it off for the entirety of the match. The Tamil Thalaivas sink to another loss at home and their fans will be pretty disappointed with their performance. The only positive from the night was Sahil Gulia's double high five - 10 points in defense. As for the Steelers - Jaideep and Rahul Sethpal starred with 7 tackle points each while both Mohits supported them well. Shivam Patare, who came as a substitute in the second half, picked up 8 raid points as well. All-in-all, a dominant performance from the Steelers while the Thalaivas' search for an elusive win at home continues. 

40' SUPER TACKLE! Another super tackle by the Steelers! Ajinkya Pawar tries a hand touch on the right corner as the left corner chain runs around and puts in a big dash to send him packing!

Mohit runs around with a block now and Jatin, who was trying a kick on the left corner, is pinned down!

Himanshu Singh tries a quick raid now as he goes deep and gets a hand touch on the left corner. However, Mohit runs around and dashes him out.

38' Jaideep puts in a double ankle hold an brings down the Thalaivas raider who was looking to get a kick.

However, Ajinkya Pawar escapes from Jaideep's thigh hold and drags himself back to the mid-line.

Himanshu Singh, meanwhile, jumps over Rahul Sethpal's attempted double thigh hold and leaps towards the mid-line.

34' Tejas is substituted in and he snaps up a bonus point in front of the left corner.

An empty raid by the Thalaivas and on the other side, Tejas snaps up another bonus point.

Do-or-die raid for the Thalaivas and Ajinkya Pawar strikes! Jaideep runs around with a dash but Ajinkya uses the lobby to cross the mid-line before going out. Oh well, Ajinkya Pawar has been deemed to have been dashed out. Seems like he crossed the mid-line after been dashed out. SUPER TACKLE!

31' SUPER TACKLE! The Steelers' right corner chain runs around with a big block to tackle the Thalaivas raider. However, Ashish has also gone out of bounds. 

However, Steelers review! They believe that Ashish was not out. Replays suggest otherwise and the original decision stands! Two points to the Steelers, one to the Thalaivas!

28' Himanshu Singh strikes again! Escapes from Jaideep's attempted double thigh hold and Mohit also goes back, who had come for assistance.

On the other side, Himanshu pounces at Shivam Patter's ankles and clips them together to bring him down!

22' Shivam Patare is in action and he strikes immediately! Picks up a bonus point and escapes from the right corner's attempted ankle hold to escape.

A game that has been played largely on the defense and it is the Steelers who's defense has been superior on the night. Only four raid points for the Tamil Thalaivas in the entire half while Sahil Gulia has notched up his high 5 already. As for the Steelers, Vinay has led the raiding department well while the defense is playing like a well stitched unit. A moment of brilliance causing an all out has been the only difference between the two sides one would reckon. Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. The forty-first match of the tournament will witness the Tamil Thalaivas lock horns with the Haryana Steelers at the SDAT Indoor Stadium, Chennai. 

The Tamil Thalaivas, after making a decent start to their campaign, have gone on to lose two matches on the trot in their previous three fixtures. They made some bold decisions in their previous match to drop Narender and Ajinkya Pawar in the absence of Sagar. They were going along well but allowed the Pink Panthers to make a comeback and ended up on the wrong side of the result. 

The Thalaivas have plenty of thinking to do, and if Sagar is not fit to play this game as well, need to make some big changes in the way they go about their business. There will be utmost pressure on head coach Ashan Kumar and the players who take the mat today to go out there and play their best brand of kabaddi against the Steelers, who have been marching on well. 

The Haryana Steelers, on the other hand, are much more comfortably placed in the points table. They had a four-match winning streak which was ended by the Telugu Titans in the previous encounter. They will be hungry to get back to winning ways today and certainly have the tools to do that against the Thalaivas. Shivam Patare impressed for the Steelers in the last game and all eyes will be on him.
