A comprehensive performance by U Mumba and they collect their third win of the season! It was a a day when their defense finally contributed after having a string of poor games. A complete all-round performance by Mumba and they have absolutely blown away the Thalaivas here. In a stadium at Pune that had plenty of support for their neighbours, the Mumba side has indeed put in a show to remember. They were attacking from the get-go and never backed down even for a moment. Super 10s for Guman Singh and Zafardanesh while each member of the defense chipped in with points. U Mumba move up in the points table while the Tamil Thalaivas will have a lot to ponder overbore their next match! 

40' Jatin is sent packing now! And just inches inside the mid-line too! Surinder runs around with his cover partner and Jatin is sent back to the bench! Rohit Gulia is trapped on the other side as he runs straight into the double thigh hold of Sahil Gulia!

40' A terrific tackle by Visvanth V! Ajinkya Pawar runs around and Visvanth's double thigh hold. Before he can escape, Visvanth lifts him and pins him down after changing his direction. On the other side, Ekrami is lifted off the ground courtesy of Sahil Gulia and send packing out of bounds!

39' Pranay Rane is brought down now as a solid ankle hold from Jatin the left corner pins him down.

On the other side, Narender is tackled as Sombir puts in a diving double thigh hold to completely immobilise him!

38' A kick from Pranay Rane gets the better of Sahil Gulia in the left corner. On the other side, Narender snaps up a bonus point in front of the left corner.

34' Jatin is pinned down now as he ventures deep in the left corner. The right side of the defense runs around with a dash while the left corner puts in an ankle hold.

33' Sombir tries an ankle hold on Jatin, who dives and escapes.

On the other side, it is a do-or-die raid for U Mumba and Zafardanesh deliveries a mighty blow! SUPER RAID!Escapes from Narender's attempted ankle hold and sends back Sahil Gulia as well, who had come for an ankle hold. M Abishek, who had tried a dash, has to go back too!

30' Do-or-die raid for the Thalaivas and Ajinkya Pawar is brought down! A diving ankle hold from Rinku and the rest of the defense runs around for assistance immediately! Oh well, Ajinkya seems to have sprained his ankle! These aren't good signs!

29' Do-or-die raid for U Mumba and Pranay Rane has been subtituted in for it! He gets cornered and tries to run across the defenders. Attempts it on both sides before the defense pounces on him!

27' Ajinkya Pawar strikes! Mahender tires a dash but Ajinkya pushes him aside and returns to his half.

A healthy lead for U Mumba going into the second half and they have just come out all guns blazing! Their defense has made all the difference today and they seem like a much more settled side. Guman Singh has led the raiding attack and has already notched up a Super 10 in the first half! Zafardanesh has played the second fiddle and all the defenders apart from Mahender have snapped up points as well. As for the Tamil Thalaivas, Narender and Ajinkya Pawar are doing the bulk of the scoring but they have been tackled quite a few times as well. Covers are the weakness for them as both Mohit and Abishek have been easy targets for the Mumba raiders. We are in for a great second half! Can Tamil Thalaivas make a comeback from here on like we saw from the Pink Panthers in the previous match. Or will U Mumba build on their lead further and add another win to their tally? Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. The twenty-eighth match of the tournament will pit U Mumba against Tamil Thalaivas at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune. 

It has been a topsy-turvy campaign so far for U Mumba, winning two and losing the same number of matches from the four encounters that they have been a part of. The Mumbai-based team held their nerves towards the end of the previous contest and got the better of the Patna Pirates in a close encounter.

Surprisingly, it has been the U Mumba raiders who have performed well. The duo of Amirmohammad Zafardanesh and Guman Singh have gelled well together and attacked from both sides of the court. They have largely been the secret behind U Mumba's wins in the tournament so far. Their defense, a much famed one, is yet to arrive to the party fully. They are pretty tentative in their approach and will be wanting to come out all guns blazing. If U Mumba's defense can work well, they can surely snap up a win. 

The Tamil Thalaivas will be playing their fourth contest today, having won two and faced a loss from the three matches that they have played so far. Similar to U Mumba, they closed a short 2-point win over the Telugu Titans in their previous encounter and will be riding high on confidence. With Narender and Ajinkya Pawar in their ranks, they have a solid raiding line-up who will be looking to disrupt the U Mumba defense. Their defense, led by Sagar is as solid as ever and will be looking to keep Zafardanesh down.
