Whew, as we catch our breaths and calm down our heart-rates, it has been an absolute gem of a game that we have been treated to! No side willing to back down one bit and in the end, it is Narender and the Thalaivas buoyed by coach Ashan Kumar's magic touch that has ensured that they advance to the Semi-Finals! It has been a pleasure bringing to you this contest! The Mumbai leg of Pro Kabaddi kicking off with a couple of enthralling encounters and we just cannot wait to see what's in store! Heartbreak for U.P. Yoddhas and look at the Tamil Thalaivas celebrate! They have pulled off quite a spectacular win here and it will be one which will be remembered for the ages to come! The match was tied and the new Tie Breaker rules were enforced for the first time in Pro Kabaddi League history! UP will be disappointed and will feel like they missed a trick there as they allowed as many as three of the Thalaivas players to pick up the bonus point (which in the tie-breaker was the baulk line itself, mind you). Credit to the Thalaivas - they played some spectacular kabaddi and have set up a clash against the Puneri Paltan in the Semi-Finals! What a win for them and it will certainly be one that they will cherish!

UP Yoddhas Raid 5: Surender Gill comes in for the raid but is greeted by Mohit, who sacrifices himself and bulldozes Gill back to his half.

Tamil Thalaivas Raid 5: Himanshu goes in for the raid and has an attempt at the baulk + bonus line. He has been awarded that but UP review! Himanshu had crossed the baulk line comfortably with the trailing foot in the air and the bonus is granted. Review unsuccessful!

The coaches are in consultation with the Match Referees and their players, explaining them the rules that will take place! What strategy will they employ? Welcome back for the Tie Breaker! The new rules will be applicable this time around unlike the earlier extra time and Golden Raid rule, which was scrapped previously. A nerve-wracking game this and we will have ten raids to decide the outcome of this game! 

For those unaware, here are the tie-breaker rules!
- 5 raids per team
- Both teams to field 7 players
- Team that raids first in the match to raid first in the tie-breaker
- Baulk line becomes the Baulk + Bonus Line
- No out or revival rules, only points scored will be counted
- 5 different raiders to raid as per pre-decided order

The referees are consulting within themselves and after a discussion, they are explaining the rules to both sides for the TIEBREAKER!

40' Ajinkya Pawar puts in an empty raid and it is a TIE! A TIE IN THE PLAYOFFS! WHEW! What an amazing contest this is turning out to be!

40' The defense stands advance and does not allow Pardeep Narwal to even cross the baulk line. Pardeep runs down a clock a touch and as soon as he attempts to cross the baulk line, a rock solid ankle hold by the right corner defender, Arpit, ensures that he is pinned down. 15 seconds to go with the scores level!

40' Ashu Malik pushes Ajinkya Pawar across the mid-line and there is time for one more raid left with one point separating the two sides! 

40' SUPER RAID! Pardeep Narwal delivering the goods when it matters the most to his side! Mohit runs around for a dash but Pardeep Narwal puts in his trademark dubki and escapes! Sahil and M Abishek had also run around for assistance and have to make their way back to the mid-line!

40' An advance block attempted by Sumit but it is Ajinkya Pawar who turns, tumbles and escapes to the mid-line!

39' Narender is pinned down by Rohit Tomar and that is the point that the Yoddhas desperately needed as the Thalaivas are reduced down to one man! And it is an ALL OUT! And what a glamorous comeback this is from the Yoddhas! With only Ajinkya Pawar on the mat, it is a surrender raid and Pardeep Narwal inflicts the all out!

38' What a raid by Pardeep! Two points! Squeezes out of a combined tackle from Abhishek and Himanshu!

36' Surinder Gill ekes out a false ankle hold attempt from Arpit, jumps up easily and scores a point! Wait, what's happened here?? Surender has been deemed out, looks like he didn't get a touch and stepped into the lobby. Point to the Thalaivas!

36' Nitesh Kumar gifts away a point to Narender with a very poor ankle hold. Not expected from the best in the business.

36' Pardeep reduces the Thalaivas to three men! Sees a frontal block from Mohit coming early, turns away near the midline and picks an important point!

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda’s coverage of the PKL season 9. A fantastic season of Pro Kabaddi draws towards its business end. UP Yoddhas and Tamil Thalaivas are all set to battle it out in the second eliminator to get a chance to play Puneri Paltan in the semi-final on Thursday. It means everything for these two teams to go one step closer towards that coveted PKL crown. The last time these sides had an encounter, the first-time play-off entrant Tamil Thalaivas were victorious with a score of 43-28 at the end of 40 minutes.

Pardeep Narwal will once again be in the spotlight this evening, and all the Yoddhas supporters will hope for a big-match performance from the very best. For the Thalaivas, watch out for Narender Hoshiyar—the youngster has been absolutely furious with his raiding abilities throughout the season. An exciting game of Kabaddi is on the cards.
