FULL TIME! Telugu Titans 33 - 48 UP Yoddhas

A clinical performance from the UP Yoddhas and they secure their second big win on the trot after trouncing the Steelers in the last game. Today, they followed a similar template and tasted success. In a game which was touted to pit Pawan against Pardeep, it was Surender Gill who stole the limelight with his 14 points. Meanwhile, the Record Breaker finished with nine points. 

Pawan Sehrawat, like in every match this season, finishes with a Super 10 but lack of support from the other end has brought about his downfall. The Titans' team is falling apart here and will need to make wholesale changes in their strategies if they are to even think about making a comeback in this competition. The Titans tried hard to make a comeback in the second half but were just outplayed by the Yoddhas. They failed to inflict all outs and Pawan spending almost half the match on the bench had a big effect on the outcome. The gap just ended up widening and errors from the defense brought about their downfall. 

UP Yoddhas will be pleased with the win certainly. They are coming into their own now and will be eager to continue their winning streak in their next contest. 

40' The Titans raider escapes from an ankle hold and escapes. Sends back another defender as well. On the other side, Pardeep picks up a bonus point but is brought down.

Nitesh puts in a SUPER TACKLE as Pawan runs straight into his double thigh hold. Samuel Wafula is brought down yet again as the right-in defender puts in a surprise double thigh hold which brings the raider down.

Telugu Titans 33 - 48 UP Yoddhas

39' Pawan Sehrawat is tackles now as the cover defender puts in an ankle hold. Pulls him back and the rest of the defense runs around for assistance. Meanwhile, the substituted-in Samuel Wafula is tackled! 

39' Pawan picks up a bonus point following which Pardeep is pinned down as the left cover chain runs around and brings him down.

39' ALL OUT! A surrender raid for Pardeep as the sole defender tries a hand hold but Pardeep drags him back to his half.

37' SUPER RAID! Pardeep Narwal's agility forces the left corner to fall out of bounds. Pawan and another defender have to go back as a meek ankle hold attempt is to no avail. The Titans raider, meanwhile, is brought down due to a double thigh hold.

36' Surender Gill is brought down! A diving double ankle hold from Ajit from the right-in and the lanky raider is pinned down! On the other side, Prafull is pinned down courtesy of a double thigh hold which immobilises him in a do-or-die raid.

34' The Titans raider is pinned down now as the right cover puts in a double thigh hold and leaves nowhere for the raider to escape.

33' Surender Gill pushes aside the incoming dashing defender and runs around him to escape.

33' Oh what has happened there? The right cover of the Yoddhas runs around and lifts Pawan off his feet and deposits him outside the lobby. However, Pawan, while airborne, had crossed the mid-line. Did his hand come from outside when he crossed the mid-line? The raider has been give as out. 

However, Titans review! Pawan's right hand was outside the lobby while the left hand crossed the mid-line. Review unsuccessful!

30' ALL OUT! The defense hangs back and allows a designated defender Mohit to pick the bonus. The right cover runs around and puts in a solid block which stops Mohit in his tracks.

29' Sanjeevi S is tackled now as the defense combines and completely surrounds him to pin him down. Was just inches away from the mid-line.

28' SUPER TACKLE! Do-or-die for the Yoddhas and Surender Gill is brought down! The right corner runs around and puts in a double ankle hold. The left corner runs around this and blocks Gill from returning. A green card awarded for jersey pulling but the tackle stands!

27' Do-or-die raid for the Titans and Omkar is brought down! Runs straight into Nitesh's ankle hold and he is stopped in his tracks!

25' Do-or-die raid for the Yoddhas and Surender Gill strikes! An unnecessary advance tackle was in the mind of the defender and he is in two minds about it. In the end, just stands advance and allows Gill to tag him and return.

25' Do-or-die raid for the Titans and Robin is brought down! Goes deep in the left side and the right cover runs around to block him.

Not good scenes! Rajnish is escorted off the court and he is limping! Robing Chaudhary is subbed-in for him! 

23' Rajnish sends back Sumit as he puts in a kick which just grazes Sumit's thigh. Meanwhile, a double ankle hold from the right corner completely immobilises Pardeep.

21' Pawan Sehrawat entices Sumit into going for an ankle hold. Only feigned the bonus and after getting a touch, escapes comfortably. Pawan, meanwhile, tries a double thigh hold on Surender but the raider escapes.

21' Surender Gill picks up another point. Hamid tries a double ankle hold but Gill changes directions quickly and escapes to the mid-line.

The Titans have done exceedingly well to stay in the contest after a poor start to this game. It seemed like the Yoddhas were running away with it, having inflicted one all out on the Titans inside the ten-minute mark. Surender Gill was the star, picking up points for fun while on the other side, Pawan Sehrawat lacked support once again. 

For a large part of the game, the UP defense has managed to keep Pawan quiet and that's what they will hope to continue in the second half as well. They need to make sure that they build upon this lead and give no opportunity to the Titans to make a comeback. The Titans, meanwhile, will need to do better in defense if they are to win.

18' SUPER TACKLE! Gill is sent to the bench for the first time today! The right corner chain runs around with a chain and this time, they make sure to not separate. Put in a solid block and Gill cannot bulldoze through them.

17' Surender Gill strikes again! The right corner runs around with a chain. Gill pushes aside the incoming corner and the right-in's ankle hold is to no avail as Gill escapes comfortably. Meanwhile, the Titans raider picks up a bonus point.

16' Pawan Sehrawat is pinned down once again! As soon as he tries a kick on the left corner, the covers run around with a chain and stop Pawan in his tracks!

15' Surender Gill entices the left corner into going for the ankle hold. Escapes from that and returns comfortably.

13' Pawan goes down! Picks up a bonus point but as soon as he does that, the right side of the defense runs around and pins him down. Meanwhile, Milad Jabbari's double ankle hold on Pardeep sends him back to the bench as well.

13' Do-or-die raid for the Yoddhas and Pardeep strikes! Picks up a bonus and Rajnish tries an ankle hold. Pardeep escapes. On the other side, Pawan picks up a bonus of his own and escapes from Nitesh's ankle hold to return.

Mohit's back-hold attempt on Pardeep is to no avail as the latter thrusts himself towards the mid-line.

12' Pawan Sehrawat strikes! Picks up a bonus and pushes away the dashing right cover. Crosses the mid-line and he's used the lobby well!

Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League, 2023. The fifteenth match of the tournament will pit 'Dubki King' Pardeep Narwal's U.P. Yoddhas up against 'Hi-Flyer' Pawan Sehrawat's Telugu Titans at the Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, Bengaluru. 

UP Yoddhas, after a shaky start against U Mumba, recovered well to bounce back in style in their match against the Haryana Steelers. With a comprehensive 30-point win under their belt, the Yoddhas displayed their prowess. Pardeep Narwal's 12 points and Surender Gill's 13 points in the raiding department along with the defenders contributing stole the show. 

The Yoddhas are undoubtedly a well-balanced team and apart from their slight hiccup against U Mumba initially, they will certainly be looking to get a winning streak going. Pardeep Narwal will be hungry for more points after going pointless in the first match. The corners will also be looking to get more points under their belts as they go up against Pawan Sehrawat. 

Telugu Titans, on the other hand, have suffered two losses on the trot. They lost against the Giants in their first match and went on to be absolutely crushed by the Patna Pirates. There is far too much pressure on Pawan Sehrawat to do the scoring and, as he admitted in a press conference, he does not see the point of him scoring super 10s if the team is losing. 

After those performances, the Titans will certainly have a lot of pondering to do regarding their combinations in the match. They need their defense to stand tall and get in the tackles, while they must figure out an apt support raider for Pawan. Lots of questions in the Titans camp and not many answers. However, it is pretty early in the tournament. Can they get onto winning ways today?
