Cody celebrates with the belt after the match as Sammy Guevara looks on. With Cody beating Sammy clean it will be interesting what direction AEW goes in with Cody's character going forward.

The champ went for a 630 but Cody Rhodes got the knees up. Cody then hit Sammy with two Cross Rhodes followed by a Tiger Driver 98. Cody then pinned Sammy Guevara to win the TNT Championship.

Sammy Guevara finally hit the GTH but Cody Rhodes somehow kicked out at the last second. The fans also erupted into "This is awesome" chants.

Back in the ring, Cody Rhodes was in total contol and he hit Sammy with the Cross Rhodes for a nearfall. Sammy looked in trouble as Cody looked for the finishing blow.

Sammy goes for a running hurricanrana out at ringside but Cody catches him in midair and powerbombs him into the front row.

Sammy Guevara fights back and hits a cutter but it isn't enough to put Cody away. Sammy then hit Cody with his own finisher, the Cross Rhodes but he rolls out of the ring. Sammy then hits a springboard 450 out to the floor.

Back from the commercial break, Cody Rhodes hits Sammy with a vertical suplex. He then headed to the top rope for a moonsault but ate the mat on the way down. Could that have been a crucial mistake?

Cody Rhodes continues to dominate during the picture-in-picture ad break. Sammy is still on the mat and Cody repeatedly boots the TNT Champion. The challenger wrenches back the champion's arm.

The match spills to the outside but Cody Rhodes is in full control now. He drags Sammy Guevara back into the ring. Cody has an armbar locked in and the fans are behind Sammy in this one.

Sammy is off the blocks stong, taking the fight the Cody Rhodes early. It's clear Sammy wants to leave Greensboro still as champion.

Welcome to the main event of this week's special episode of AEW Rampage. Sammy Guevara is about to defend the TNT title against Cody Rhodes.

It is a special Christman edition of Rampage and the show will be headlined by a TNT Championship Match.

Sammy Guevara will put his title on the line against a resurgent Cody Rhodes. The former TNT Champion has put an end to his feud with Andrade and Malakai Black and is moving on to better things. Will he end the reign of Sammy?

Apart from this, Hook will be in action against Bear Bronson. Jungleboy will square off against Isiah Kassidy as well.
