A killer point from Jayaram! He lured the youngster to the net to open up the backcourt and finished it with a lob winner to lead 16-11.
The 19-year-old Dane is not giving up. His attitude is so impressive and that has helped him to stay in touch. Currently, he trails Jayaram 9-14.
Antonsen cut back the lead to 6-10 but his subsequent smash finds the net. Jayaram goes into the interval with an 11-6 lead.
A few errors from the Dane let Jayaram build on his lead further to go up 10-5.
In the third game, it's a cat-and-mouse chase. Everytime Jayaram is inching ahead, Antonsen is catching up. Currently Jayaram is now once more ahead 7-5.
The net that so troubled him in the first game has come to his rescue. Antonsen takes the second game 21-13 with a deft touch at the net.
Antonsen can return EVERYTHING! Even Jayaram can feel the heat! The Dane is on a roll after taking seven points in a row to have a healthy lead of 19-12.
The Dane is simply not intimidated by the fact that he is playing the two-time champion. He sticks to his aggressive mode and it is reaping huge rewards. Antonsen is now ahead 14-12.
A fantastic smash winner helped the fifth seed to level at 10-10 but he also undid his good work with an error. Jayaram takes an 11-10 lead at the interval.
The Dane is fighting hard and not letting the top seed run away with the match. Jayaram is currently ahead narrowly, 10-9.
But Jayaram's experience is now making the difference as he inches ahead, 7-4.
The early exchanges are hard-fought and the two are now locked at 3-3 in the second game.
Trying to rush his way through, the inexperienced Dane made a couple of unforced errors at the net. That helped Ajay to go up 19-18. With a fantastic down-the-line smash, he set up a game point which he converted when Antonsen made an error. Ajay takes the first game 21-18.
A crucial backhand unforced error from Jayaram after a long rally now presents the lead back to the Dane, who is now ahead 18-17.
After some spirited play from the Dane who had snatched back the lead, the two are now all square at 16-16 in the first game.
Ajay's defense and persistence are paying off. The top seed has now taken a lead, albeit of by a slim margin of 14-13.
Once more the Dane is playing some brutal attacking badminton and now leads 13-11.
Jayaram won two points in a row but conceded an error to trail 10-12.
The top seed closed in on 7-9 but Antonsen picked up a couple of vital points to take an 11-8 lead at the mid-game interval.
The smart Jayaram is now trying his best to move the youngster around the court and his tactics are paying off. Antonsen is now making a lot of unforced errors and they are helping Jayaram to come back into the match.
Antonsen is playing some fast and furious shots. Jayaram is struggling a lot to counter his pace. The Dane bags four points on the trot to lead 8-4.
Jayaram is now fighting back and has reduced the gap to 4-5.
The young Dane has come to play. He is off to a fast start and has quickly opened up a 4-1 lead.
While Jayaram is ranked 20th, the 19-year-old Dane is ranked 48th. Thanks to his huge experience, the Indian is the favourite to win this match.
