The pace and intensity of the game have picked up. Both are speeding through the shots now and Yuxiang has closed in on 14-16
An excellent rally that saw both players grinding it out ends with the Chinese grabbing the point through an angular drop.
Yuxiang also squanders his golden opportunity with some errors at the net and he now trails Ajay, 12-16
A crucial service error from the Indian puts the Chinese back into this game at 12-14
His shot lands long and Ajay is now ahead by 14-10
His persistent efforts are paying off and he has now cut down the lead to 9-13.
After the break, the Chinese is making more forays into the net and showing some impressive footwork in the forecourt. He now trails 7-12.

The Indian maintains his slender lead and is now at 17-14
Ajay's aggressive display is doing the trick along with some controlled defensive play. He cannot afford to relax though as Yuxiang did reach the final of the Indonesian Masters just a few days back.
Ajay extends the lead to 16-12.
Jayaram is looking extremely focussed and is in total control of the proceedings. He is now ahead 14-10.
It is now a 3-point gap as Ajay is ahead by 12-9.
And he keeps on bagging the points for an 11-7 lead at the interval.
Jayaram now starting to assert himself and he grabs the next two points to jump to 9-7.
The two are tied at 7-7 now
Ajay, however, soon wrestles back the momentum to take the next two points to lead 7-6
Once more the rallies are getting longer and this time, it is Yuxiang who comes out on top. He leads 6-5.
The early exchanges are once more hard-fought and the two are locked at 4-4
That rattles Yuxiang who quickly concedes the next point as well.
It is a long rally and Ajay's defensive skills are shining bright. He levels 2-2
The Chinese takes a slim lead of 2-1
Jayaram and Yuxiang's match is about to begin as the earlier match has just finished.
