Ajay's quest for hattrick is cut short as he fails to return Wang's shot at the net.
Wang still maintains the lead and has steadily reached match point at 20-17
A fabulous point where Ajay had many chances but Wang does the talking in the end with a superb jump smash.
Ajay also the crowd support and is receiving loud cheers as he makes his way back. He is at 16-17.
And so he does! A couple of points come his way and he is at 15-17.
Ajay needs to refocus here right now as the match is now slipping away from his grip. He trails 12-17.
And the top seed maintains the 2-point lead for 12-14. But a double fault has been called Wang gets another point for 15-12.

The points are very fast now. Ajay has cut down the lead to 3-6 now.

Wang looks shaken and somewhat dispirited. The accuracy in his game has gone missing. Jayaram has now built a solid lead of 15-10.

Wang also helps Ajay with a couple of errors and they are back to level at 4-4

Ajay is showing some of his fiery aggression but he is also undoing the good work through his errors. Wang is now ahead 4-2.
That's quite a tame surrender from the two-time defending champion. The spark is absolutely missing from his game. He needs a quick turnaround to have any chance of doing the hattrick.
Wang did not have to wait long to convert his game point. He does it on his first chance and takes the opener, 21-10.
Ajay tried to add his deft touch at the net and slow down Wang. In the end, he made a mistake and the point goes to Wang again. The second seed is looking more and more confident and is now at 20-10.
Ajay is looking slightly slow and a bit jaded too. Is it because of the long semi-final he played yesterday? He is trying his best to close the gap but currently his opponent's level is too high and he refuses to make many mistakes. Wang now leads 16-9.

The top seed is finally beginning to find open spaces in the court and trying to move the Chinese Taipei shuttler all over the court. Slowly and steadily, Ajay is getting back into it and trails 4-6.
The points are very fast. Jayaram initially struggling to counter Wang's pace and is currently trailing 1-5.
Wang has come prepared. He is aggressive right from the beginning and has raced to a 4-0 lead.

The World No. 20 won it the last two years and is seeking a hattrick this year. Not only that, even in 2010, he had reached the final of this event where he finished as the runner-up.
This time he is the top seed and the obvious favourite to win the title. He faces the second seeded Tzu Wei Wang of Chinese Taipei, who is currently ranked 33rd. Jayaram leads their head-to-head meetings, 2-0 with his most recent win over Wang coming at the Swiss Open in March last year.
