Sportskeeda's live coverage for the match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan begins at 6 PM IST tomorrow! We hope to have your company for that as well! Untill then, it's goodbye and goodnight!
...
...
It should be an exciting final on March 6, but that's not all that we have left in the Asia Cup. There's another league game, between Pakistan and Sri Lanka tomorrow, which would be more about bragging rights than anything else, as two disappointed teams would look to finish the tournament on a high and take the momentum into the World T20. Both teams have already been knocked out of contention for the final.
...
...
Bangladesh will have to be cautious against this Indian batting order, that now has four of the top six ingood touch. The grass has also been removed from the surface, and hence, batting must become slightly easier. However, given the way Bangladesh bowled against Pakistan, they cannot be taken lightly.
...
So, India pull out a masterclass here and have made their intentions very clear ahead of the all important final. Yuvraj's return to form are very good signs for India. His exploits in the previous World T20s have ben well chronicled already!
...
"Any team that lays at home is difficult to beat, but we've played some good cricket in this tournament, We've dominated, and have to continue playing that way. Bangladesh are also a good side. Let's hope it is a good final," says Dhoni signing off.
...
"There's always scope of improvement. We have to be consistent and be at our best before the final," adds Dhoni
...
"It's important to be at the top of our game, and the people who got opportunity to play this game needed to push the selectors and the captain for a place in the side, and they did that," says MS.
...
MS Dhoni signs the match ball for a fan!
...
"It's never easy to just play your shots on this wicket. You need to give youself some time. I did just that," he adds.
...
"Wickets here have been challenging, and I'm glad that we put up a performance like that," says Rohit.
...
The Man of the Match award goes to Rohit Sharma for his innings of 39(28)!
...
"Plans were to score 120 and put pressure, but today we played be favourites of the tournament," says Amjad Javed, the UAE captain. He adds," We've got experience from the tournament and has been a good learning process for the bowlers."
...
Time for the post-match presentation!
...
As it turns out, today's win, with 59 balls to spare is India's biggest in all T20I!
...
...
"Rohit took the pressure of me and allowed me to play more balls and get set on the crease. It's a bautiful thing that we complement each other," says Shikhar Dhawan.
...
Yuvraj hit 4 fours and a six in his innings, and now, looks well and truly in good touch. Rohit's attacking innings first up made up or his off days in the last two games. Negi picked up a wicket and took two catches. Bhuvaneshwar bowled the spell of his life, perhaps, as far as T20I are concerned, and Harbhajan too chipped in with a wicket. Could this game have been any more perfect?
...
A perfect game for India! As comprehensive a victory as there could ever be in a T20I!
