Al Hammadi tries to find the far the far corner but that takes a deflection off Kotal, bounces off the post and even ricochets off Gurpreet. Fortunately, it doesn't slip into the goal.

Jeje tries to poke it into the goal like the way he scored against Thailand but this one is just inches wide.

48' Jeje's first-touch off that miscued clearance by Khalifa Mubarak doesn't go down so well. Against Thailand, Jeje had scored 2 minutes after coming on. India need a similar performance now.

And that's half-time at Abu Dhabi. Khalfan provides UAE coach Alberto Zaccheroni a lifeline with that wonderful finish off the mistake by Anas Edathodika.
India could have taken the lead twice in the game but Eisa stood strong against the efforts of Ashique Kuruniyan and Sunil Chhetri to deny the Blue Tigers.
All hope is not lost yet. India struck three against Thailand in the second half and we could expect a similar display in the next 45. Stay tuned.

How disappointed are you with that momentary lapse of concentration by Anas?

45' Clash of the heads as Sandesh and Ismail Mohamed both go for the ball.
Ismail is on the ground bleeding but the physios are treating him. He's stretchered off but could return after the break.

43' CLOSE!
India respond well with Sunil Chhetri making the run from behind the defenders. He frees himself to the right side of the box and tries to find the far corner but it's just wide of the goal.

41' WHAT HAS HAPPENED? UAE TAKE THE LEAD due to India's recklenssness.
Sheer disbelief as India fail to handle a counter. Two defenders are there. Anas waits for Sandesh to clear it and Mabkhout finds Khalfan, who chips to the top-left corner. A neat finish from Khalfan Mubarak and all the good work that India did over the last 40 minutes has been wasted.

39' UAE try to break the India way with a long ball. Al Hammadi tries to get past the defenders but Sandesh Jhingan runs along and prevents him from taking a shot. Gurpreet collects.

38' SIDE-NETTING!
A dangerous cross from Alhasan Saleh is directed at Khalfan but the midfielder can't make contact. The UAE player makes amends by winning the ball at the right side of the box and poking at goal. He manages to hit the side-netting.

35' UAE have 2 set-pieces with Udanta fouling Al Hammadi.
The first free-kick by Khalfan is headed away by Halicharan Narzary. Then, it's a simple clearance for Pronay Halder off a poorly taken flag-kick.

32' Both sides play a couple of wayward passes to give away the possession. Al Hammadi breaks on the counter after a long-range effort from Sunil Chhetri. Esmaeel has a go from 25 yards out but it's way over the bar.

28' Sunil Chhetri plays another smart through-ball to Ashique and the youngster unleashes pace but Ismaeel Ahmed is stronger and stretches out his leg to force a corner.
India try a similar routine with Thapa and Pronay but the cross by Pronay has no takers.

26' Danger at the other end meanwhile as Udanta gets nutmugged embarrassingly by Alhasan Saleh. The cross comes in but Anas Edathodika clears away the danger.

Sunil Chhetri runs in between the two central defenders, gets to the cross from Anirudh Thapa and heads it nicely. The attempt is quite strong and accurate too. But Eisa jumps in.
The stadium almost erupted in celebration. This is another of those 'what if' moments. Good reaction by Eisa though.

22' India's play seems to be frustrating UAE and Ali Mabkhout fires from 35 yards out and nowhere close to the goal.

16' Pronay Halder fails twice to find Udanta at the right flank. Referee too intercepts a pass but India are unable to make anything of it.

12' Anirudh Thapa plays a corner short to Pronay, who holds the ball to play it again for Thapa down the flank. The midfielder drops it to the centre of the box sweetly for Jhingan but the defender's header flows wide again.

11' BLOCKED!
Eisa stands between Ashique and the goal after a wonderful through-ball by Sunil Chhetri. The FC Pune City winger, playing as a forward now, fires a left-footer into the corner but Eisa makes a brilliant save to deny India.

10' THOSE LONG BALLS ARE BACK.
But they seem to be working well for India because it's being played from goalkeeper Gurpreet and towards Udanta Singh, who unleashes his pace and runs behind the defender.
One of them falls nicely to Ashique Kuruniyan after an aerial duel and the young attacker hits off the volley to test Eisa.

8' HUGE CHANCE AND IT'S WASTED!
Sandesh Jhingan has a free header off that corner but he glances the ball agonisingly wide.

7' Good work by Udanta at the flank, fighting off two UAE players, including their captain Al Hammadi. The ball then falls to Pritam Kotal but the full-back's cut-back is blocked and India have a corner.

6' India might feel undone.
Goalkeeper Eisa charges out, does a back-heel and prevents India from taking a quick throw-in since he's out of position. The referee warns him but that should have been a yellow to the UAE custodian.

5' Most of UAE's attack is originating from the flanks.
But there's one long ball from the centre-back to Khalfan Mubarak but Gurpreet gets there first.
