Sindhu had to do it the hard way. After a blazing start, she lost her way and then found her aggression and power only towards the end, in what was a rollercoaster.

Just minutes after Saina ensured a medal for India, that was also the country's first ever women's singles Asiad medal, Sindhu gives the country a second medal!!!!!

What a day!!!!!

For 36 years, we didn't have an individual badminton medal at the Asiad, and now we have two!!!!!

Sindhu has DONE IT!!!!!!

Jindapol snatched the lead to go up to 8-7 but Sindhu has once again marched ahead to 9-8

And that has emboldened the Thai.

The points are coming fast and furious for Sindhu as she has now upped the intensity.

And with a huge, huge smash, Sindhu progresses further to 17-10

The last few points have all gone Sindhu's way!

She now leads 15-9

It's all business for Sindhu now...once she managed to grab the lead, all she has to do now is to steadily keep building on it.

And that is exactly what she is doing.
