The Koreans took that second set but the Indians managed to hold their nerves in a thrilling match tie-break and get the win.

And the Koreans are cruising in this set as they build a big 5-2 lead.

Bopanna was struggling from a pinched nerve in his back in the lead-up to the Asiad. He had to retire from his Wimbledon match because of that and also had to pull out of a few tournaments after that.

Elsewhere, in Women's Singles, Ankita Raina made it through to the quarters while Karman Kaur Thandi lost her match.

The other Indian doubles pair of Ramkumar Ramanathan and Sumit Nagal also won their encounter and are through to the Top 8 in Men's doubles.

It's a 6-3, 6-1 win for the Indians. They are through to the quarter-finals.

And the Indians have produced another great serving display to hold their serve to 15 and complete the win.

And it is 5-1 for the Indians

Bopanna and Sharan stamp their authority once more as they secure a second break of serve.

They are now 4-1 up in Set 2

And they consolidate their early break with a smooth and buttery service hold to love.

It's 3-0 for Bopanna and Sharan. They are simply showing who's the boss out here!

Not only that, they have even got an early break in the second set and are 2-0 up.

They have already won the first set over an unheralded Thai pair.

The likes of Ankita Raina, Rohan Bopanna, Karman Thandi Kaur, Divij Sharan and others are all in action today at the Asian Games, as they look to make their way towards the respective medals.

India currently stand at the eighth spot on the Medal Tally, with a total of five medals -- two gold, two silver and one bronze. Both the gold medals came from wrestling, with Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat clinching superiority in their respective categories.
