The onus now lies on Saurav Ghosal to defeat his opponent to enter the final so that at least a SILVER is confirmed for India in the Men's Singles category in squash!
In women's singles both Dipika and Joshna lost to their respective opponents in the Semifinals of Women's singles and had to settle for Bronze medals! These are the only two medals which have come so far in a rather disappointing day for India and they have not come in a way fans would have desired!

Day 6 was the best day for India in terms of the medals won, with a total of 7 coming home! India's team of Sawarn Singh, Daatu Bhokanal, Daatu Bhokanal, and Sukhmeet Singh won GOLD Men's Quadruple Sculls. Dushyant also bagged a Bronze medal for India in Rowing -- Men's Lightweight Single Sculls. Another Bronze came as Rohit Kumar and Bhagwan Singh finished third in the Final of Men's Lightweight Double Sculls. India’s Shooting sensation Heena Sidhu finished third in Women's 10m Air Pistol to bag Bronze!
India’s Tennis Men's Doubles pair of Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan grabbed the GOLD medal after defeating Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik & Denis Yevseyev 6-3, 6-4 in the Final. Meanwhile, Prajnesh Gunneswaran's loss in the Men's Singles Semis meant that the ace Indian player would have to settle for a Bronze medal. There was another huge upset in Kabaddi as the Indian Women's team lost to Iran in the final, and bagged the silver medal.
Squash action continues on Day 7!
Saurav Ghosal started his campaign at the 2018 Asian Games by thrashing Sri Lanka's Shamil Wakeel 11-2, 11-2, 11-1 in his Round of 32 match. Saurav faced Tayyab Aslam in the Round of 16 and was able to defeat him 11-5, 11-3, 11-13, 11-8. His quarterfinal match was set up against the other Indian hope in the event, Harinder Pal Sandhu, which he won 3-1 (9-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-7).
Au Chun Ming Leo or simply Leo Au, as he is also know, will be Saurav's opponent in the semifinal clash. Leo Au from Hong Kong is currently ranked 21st whereas the Indian is at 12. The upcoming match is sure to be a nail-biter so stay tuned for all the updates.
