Things have been panning out in the right way for India as Day 7 at the Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games saw one gold and three bronze medals making it to India's bountiful bag. Tajinderpal Singh Toor came up with an Asian Games record throw of 20.75m in his fifth attempt in men's shot put final to win the GOLD MEDAL. On the other hand, Dipika Pallikal, Joshana Chinappa, and Sourav Ghoshal brought home 3 bronze medals from squash.
As we reach the halfway mark at the Games with Day 8 dawning over us, things will get more exciting!
The table tennis contingent will begin their action from today!
The highly successful Indian Women's team is playing in Group A which consists of China, India, Qatar, Iran Women's Team. The Manika Batra led team is riding high on success after their wonderful performance at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games where they dethroned Singapore and won themselves a gold medal in the team category! That classic feat has almost immediately made the Women's team a steady favourite for another gold here at the Asian Games! India begins it's campaign with the qualifiers against Qatar on Day 8 of the Games where Manika Batra, Mouma Das, Sutirtha Mukherjee, Ayhika Mukherjee, Madhurika Patkar will try out their luck to set things off on the right foot!
