After a disappointing loss to DPR Korea in the last encounter, the Women’s Handball team would like to end their campaign on a high in Jakarta when the eves take on Malaysia in the 9-10 th position match at the 2018 Asian Games. Although there are no medal hopes in the event, it will be a big challenge for the players to register at least a single win at the mega event. Although, the Men’s team have managed to put up a promising show at the Asiad, the women have struggled from the beginning and showed no improvements later. In the first preliminary match, the team lost to Kazakhstan with scores of 19-36. There were hardly any signs of a turnaround in the second encounter, losing to South Korea 18-45. China was also a far superior unit compared to the Indians, handing them another defeat and virtually knocking them out of the competition. But their last game against DPR Korea was humiliating, where the Asian neighbours demolished India with scores of 49-19.
