And that's a wrap! It's been a rollercoaster of emotions for Indian fans today! It did not start off in the greatest of fashions, with India failing to win medals in the final athletics event of Asian Games 2023, along with PV Sindhu being knocked out in the quarterfinal.

From there on, the day improved as India received multiple qualifications in wrestling, out of which two converted to Bronze medals. Indian Archers did not disappoint once again, adding two shining Golds to the tally courtesy of the Men and Women Compound Teams.

HS Prannoy battled out his opponent (and a dodgy back) to win the quarterfinal in the grandest of fashions. Dipika Pallikal and Sandhu delivered as they added another Gold to India while Saurav Ghosal had to settle for Silver.

India's men's kabaddi team won both their matches to set up a semifinal date with Pakistan tomorrow. And to finish the day, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty finished their quarterfinal match in under half an hour to cruise into the semifinals!

An enthralling day comes to an end and tomorrow promises to be just the same! That's all we have for you from our side. Join us back tomorrow right here at Sportskeeda! Until then, it's goodnight from our side!

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 7-11 Ng Eain Yow
Match Score: 1-3 (11-9, 9-11, 5-11, 7-11)

HEARTBREAK FOR GHOSAL! GOLD FOR YOW! A brilliant performance from Ng Eain Yow, as he outclasses Ghosal after the match. Ghosal beat the 25-year-old during the Team event but it wasn't to be his day today. Yow has his first Asian Games gold, and in all likelihood, Saurav Ghosal will finish his Asian Games career without a singles gold. Take nothing away from the runner-up though! Over the course of both the Team and singles events, the 37-year-old has shown just why he continues to be the best male Squash player in the country. And it is probably a loss for the event that he may choose to retire without an Asian Games singles gold to his name.

16:09 (IST)5 OCT 2023

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 7-10 Ng Eain Yow

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 5-8 Ng Eain Yow
Match Score: 1-2 (11-9, 9-11, 5-11)

Eain Yow inches ever closer to the dream. But Ghosal refuses to let the Malaysian have it easy. The Indian is throwing all he's got at it and some more. Question is, will it be enough?

16:05 (IST)5 OCT 2023

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 3-6 Ng Eain Yow

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 2-2 Ng Eain Yow

16:01 (IST)5 OCT 2023

WRESTLING - Women's Freestyle Bronze Medal Match

Pooja Gehlot (IND) 2-9 Aktenge Keunimjaeva (UZB)

15:57 (IST)5 OCT 2023

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 5-11 Ng Eain Yow
Match Score: 1-2 (11-9, 9-11)

Stroke, no let, game point to Yow. And Yow holds his nerve to take the game 11-5. The Malaysian leads the match 2 games to 1. Just this one game separates the Malaysian from his date with destiny. One would hope that Ghosal doesn't take this lying down though, of course!

15:56 (IST)5 OCT 2023

WRESTLING - Women's Freestyle Bronze Medal Match

After Period 1: Pooja Gehlot (IND) 0-3 Aktenge Keunimjaeva (UZB)

15:47 (IST)5 OCT 2023

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 1-6 Ng Eain Yow
Match Score: 1-1 (11-9, 9-11)

Yow starting to assert just a little bit of dominance now. Expert drop followed by a great overhead shot that Ghosal just couldn't make it to in time.

15:45 (IST)5 OCT 2023

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 1-2 Ng Eain Yow
Match Score: 1-1 (11-9, 9-11)

Let given after what felt like a round of pinball where the ball kept being ricocheted off the side walls.

15:41 (IST)5 OCT 2023

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 9-11 Ng Eain Yow

Match Score: 1-0 (11-9)

The longest rally of the match is brought to an end by an incredible sequence of shots by Saurav Ghosal. A backhand shot down the line, followed by a drop that was then followed by another backhand down the line, leaving Yow in no man's land.

15:26 (IST)5 OCT 2023

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 2-2 Ng Eain Yow
Match Score: 1-0 (11-9)

Cagey start to the game as you'd expect. Neither competitor wants to give anything away and, four points in, these two amazing athletes are tied at 2-2.

15:20 (IST)5 OCT 2023

SQUASH - Men's singles final

Saurav Ghosal 11-9 Ng Eain Yow
Match Score: 1-0

Game, Ghosal!
Done in again by the drop. But you'd think the 'no let' call from the referee is a little harsh given there's a no way he could have made that shot with Ghosal being where he was. That shot was never going to be easy either way, of course. As a result, Saurav Ghosal is two games away from a singles gold medal.
