Rohan Bopanna is all set to get his Australian Open mixed doubles quarterfinal underway with his Hungarian partner Timea Babos, as they face Colombia’s Juan Sebastian Cabal and Abigail Spears of USA.
The Indo-Hungarian pair have been on rampant form so far in the Australian pen, and are yet to drop a set as they progress to the quarterfinals. They had made short work of New Zealand duo of Perez and Whittington, beating them 6-2, 6-4, before overcoming the challenge by Vania King of USA and Franko Skugor of Croatia 6-4, 6-4.
Meanwhile, Spears and Cabal had a difficult run into the quarters both of their previous matches have gone into the deciding set.
IT has not been that great an outing for the Indian tennis stars at the Australian Open so far, and Bopanna would be looking to make this opportunity count, and take another step closer to the mixed double title.
