After negotiating their first two ties, Rohan Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin are all set to face off in a tight encounter against seventh seed Mate Pavic and Oliver Marach in the pre-quarterfinal stage.
Both Bopanna and Roger-Vasselin have shown good form this Australian summer, and are yet to drop a set so far this season. While they beat Vasek Pospisil and Ryan Harrison 6-2, 7-6 in the first round, they overcame the challenge by Joao Souza and Leonardo Mayer with a 7-6, 7-5 win in the second.
Meanwhile, Pavic and Marach have also played well in the first couple of rounds, dropping just a single set on their way. While they did not face many challenges in the first round against Victor Estrella Burgos and Federico Delbonis, beating them 6-1, 6-4, the duo came up against Artem Sitak and Wesley Koolhof. The Dutch-Australian pair managed to win the first set 7-5 on the tiebreaker, but PAvic and Marach roared back, winning the next two sets 6-4.
