It's all over here as Kidambi Srikanth has qualified for the quarter finals . Hong Kong shuttler WONG Wing Ki Vincent retired hurt with the scoreline reading 7-2 in the first game!
Ace Indian men’s singles shuttler Kidambi Srikanth has huffed and puffed his way to the second round at the Asian Badminton Chmpionships, and is all set to take on Wong Wing Ki Vincent of Hong Kong on Thursday.
After stupendous performances last year, when he won four Super Series titles, Kidambi Srikanth has had a relatively slower start to the ongoing campaign.
Despite the slow start, however, the ace shuttler had made it to the top of the BWF rankings, earlier this year. However, he has since dropped to no. 5 in the world rankings since then.
His most recent outing, the 2018 Commonwealth Games, turned out to be a success though, as the man from Guntur clinched a silver medal after being defeated by Malaysian star Lee Chong Wei.
Srikanth has made it to Round 2 after a bit of a hiccup in the first round, where he beat Kenta Nishimoto of Japan in three games.
