FT: Brazil 4-0 Peru

Brazil make it two wins from two with a 4-0 win over Peru, with Alex Sandro, Neymar, Everton Ribeiro and Richarlison finding the net for the Selecao. Neymar in particular, was in fine form tonight, troubling the Peruvian defence throughout the game. The 4-0 result is quite harsh on Peru, who were in with a chance for much of this game, with late goals adding gloss to the scoreline.

Tite's side now top the North Zone of the Copa America group, and look evermore the favourites to win this competitions outright. Gareca, meanwhile, ought not to press the panic button despite being bottom of the group - this was their opening game and they have plenty of chances to qualify with four out of five teams from the group going through.

90+6' Neymar sends his free-kick well over the bar, and reacts with frustration, but he's been absolutely awesome tonight.

90+5' A bit of frustration on display as Tapia fouls Neymar on the edge of the box. Neymar stands over the ball once more..

90+3' The floodgates have opened as Neymar creates yet another goal with a superb flick to send Firmino through on goal. Gallese makes the save but the ball rebounds to Richarlison - his first shot is blocked but as he lays prone on the pitch, he lifts the ball into the net with his second shot. Brazil 4-0 Peru

90+3' GOOOAAAL!! Richarlison makes it 4-0 to Brazil

90' We have six minutes of additional time, which isn't very surprising given the lengthy VAR check on the hour mark.

89' Neymar sends Richarlison clear down the left and he sends in a low cross for Everton Ribeiro. The experienced Flamengo man shows Firmino how it's done and taps in into the net to score his first goal for the Selecao. Brazil 3-0 Peru

87' GREAT SAVE! Richarlison finds Firmino in acres of space in the box with a clever pass and Gallese makes an incredible save from point-blank range to deny him!

86' CHANCE! Everton Ribeiro with a mazy run cutting into the middle, before attempting to release Neymar down the left channel into the box, only to overhit his pass.

85' 5 minutes to go and Peru look all but beaten. It could have been very different had Alex Valera scored a few minutes ago - he's sure to be replaying that in his dreams tonight. Not what you'd want for a national team debut, ouch.

84' SHOT! Neymar attempts to curl the box into the far post from the free-kick and his show curls narrowly wide of the post. Meanwhile, Danilo comes off to be replaced by Emerson.

82' Dear Lord! Neymar produces an outrageous array of nutmegs and flicks while on a run into the box, before eventually earning a free-kick as Tavara hacks him down and earns a yellow card.

81' SHOT! Neymar goes for goal and his shot is on target, but Gallese had positioned himself well to collect the ball with ease.

80' Brazil have a free-kick in a central position, and unsurprisingly Neymar stands over the ball...

78' HOW DID HE MISS?! Alex Valera volleys over the bar from a couple of yards out, after the free-kick finds him at the far post. A quite incredible miss, and it really ought to be 2-1 right now.

78' Lodi is straight into the action, and his attempt to block Carillo down the wings goes awry, conceding a free-kick with a handball.

75' 15 minutes to go (and a sizeable amount of injury time) for Peru to make an astonishing comeback. It doesn't seem in the realm of possibility right now, but stranger things have happened.

74' Christian Cueva and Yoshimar Yotun come off to be replaced by Alexis Arias and Gerald Tavara

72' CHANCE! Gallese makes a save to deny Richarlison's shot from the left. Neymar started off the move with yet another charge through the middle - he's causing them plenty of problems right now.

Neymar now has 68 goals for Brazil, just 9 behind Pele's all-time record for the Selecao.

71' Tite makes another change as Roberto Firmino comes on to replace Gabriel Jesus.

70' Peruvian heads have visibly dropped, with Brazil controlling possession with ease. Gareca's men aren't pressing as well anymore, with a route back into the game looking ever more unlikely.

68' Fred finds Neymar on the edge of the box, and with Ramos giving him space, the PSG forward hammers a low drive across Gallese right into the bottom corner to double Brazil's lead!

68' GOOOAAAL NEYMAR! 2-0 to Brazil

67' Peru are still very much in this game and have looked far more positive in the last few minutes. Corzo wins a throw-in down the right wing as Gareca makes attacking changes - Luis Iberico and Alex Valero coming on to replace Gianluca Lapadula and Sergio Pena.

64' The penalty is overturned! Perhaps the correct decision, but Neymar continues to voice his protest.

62' Hang on... The referee is called over to have a look at the television screens - replays show Neymar was already on his way down when contact was made... There's a case for either decision to be made here.

60' Renato Tapia clips Neymar's knee as he bursts into the box from the left and the referee is left with no option but to blow for a penalty. VAR checks as Neymar stands over the ball - it's unlikely to be overturned as replays make it clear there was contact.

60' PENALTY TO BRAZIL!

59' Yotun concedes a foul in a promising position for Brazil. Neymar sends in a low delivery to Richarlison in space down the left wing, but his cross into the box is cleared with ease. Jesus stops Peru on the counter and earns a yellow card.

58' Lapadula has never scored for Peru (albeit having only declared for them last year), and it's easy to see why. He's barely received any service, with Gallese the latest to send an aimless long ball forward that Lapadula gamely chases anyway.

56' Brazil remain in control, and after a spell of possession at the back, Jesus eventually lofts a cross to the far post. As Richarlison attempts to get to the overhit ball, he crumbles under the attentions of Sergio Pena in the box, but the ref correctly waves play on.

54' Eder Militao is down in pain clutching his elbow after holding off Lapadula attempting to get to the ball and prevent a goal-kick. He's back on the pitch after a bit of treatment.

52' CHANCE! Brazil suddenly up their tempo, with Gabriel Jesus and Everton Ribeiro exchanging passes down Brazil's right to eventually find Danilo in space charging through the middle. The right back unleashes a powerful shot on the edge of the box, but his effort flies over.

51' Brazil have been the better team at the start of the second half, but Peru remain firm in defence, with Ramos and Abram producing plenty of blocks and interceptions to thwart the Selecao.

49' Richarlison and Everton Rebeiro combine well down the left, with the former's shot on goal earning a corner. Neymar sends in a curling cross, but Gallese leaps high to collect the ball with ease.

48' Jesus clatters into the back of Sergio Pena and Peru have a free-kick in a promising position down their left channel. Tapia and Yotun stand over the ball, with Yotun's delivery cleared with ease.

46' Brazil have the better off the opening second half exchanges, with the move eventually ending as Neymar turns the tables and fouls Ramos.

46' AND WE'RE OFF! Brazil get us underway, kicking off from right to left.

HT: Tite makes a couple of changes as Richarlison and Everton Ribeiro come on to replace Everton and Gabigol

A few concerns for Brazil going into the second half, chief among them the performance of Gabigol, who had nine touches in the first half... Ederson had 17 in comparison.

HT: Brazil 1-0 Peru

Brazil have barely got out of second gear but go into the break with a one-goal lead thanks to Alex Sandro's goal after excellent work from Gabriel Jesus and Neymar in the build-up. Peru have had a few moments, while also controlling possession with a safety-first style of play. Gareca ought to be fairly satisfied, as the avenue to get back into this game still exists.
