FULL TIME! And that's the end of that! Brazil have had just enough in their tank, to notch up these three points against Spain. The two teams have had to give it their all in the sultry conditions in Kochi. While both the teams have been slated as tournament favourites, this hard-fought victory by Brazil could be an indication of things to come.

18:54 (IST)7 OCT 2017

90'+4 FREE KICK for Spain! This is probably their last chance, as they lob the ball into the area. Beitia did manage to jump high and get his head to the ball, but his header was too high.

18:52 (IST)7 OCT 2017

90'+3 The Brazil players barely seem to have enough energy anymore, as Spain forge forward, winning their 11th corner of the match.

18:50 (IST)7 OCT 2017

90'+1 A cleared header fell straight to Perera at the edge of the box. He chested it down and pulled the trigger, but his left footed shot was too high.

18:49 (IST)7 OCT 2017

88' Yellow Card: Jose LAra of Spain, for diving inside the Brazil penalty area.

18:48 (IST)7 OCT 2017

87' CHANCE! Alan showed great determination in this heat, to send a low cross into the box. Marcos Antonio, who it was aimed at, was unable to reach the ball before the keeper. A goal here would have ended things.

18:46 (IST)7 OCT 2017

86' Lincoln, who has done very well to close down the Spanish defenders, suddenly collapses to the ground, asking for some medical attention. Possibly cramps again. Fearing that it may be time-wasting tactics, the referee asks him to receive his treatment outside the throw line.

18:43 (IST)7 OCT 2017

83' FREE KICK for Spain! The free kick is wasted, as it is hit straight into the Brazil wall.  Meanwhile, Beitia comes back on the pitch.

18:41 (IST)7 OCT 2017

80' Now Beitia goes down in a lump near the centre circle. Even Spain have made all their substitutions, and Beitia has to soldier on after receiving treatment.

18:38 (IST)7 OCT 2017

78' After receiving a little treatment, Wesley comes back onto the pitch to restore parity of the number of players on the pitch from each side. However, he is still moving gingerly.

18:36 (IST)7 OCT 2017

76' Brazil seem to be in a spot of bother there. Wesley goes down on the ground with cramps. However, they have made all three of their substitutions, which means that they will have to play these last 14-odd minutes of regulation time with just 10 men.

18:32 (IST)7 OCT 2017

72' Alan swings a long-range freekick into the Spain box, and the ball is blasted into the net among a flurry of legs. However, the referee blew his whistle, for a foul, we presume.

18:30 (IST)7 OCT 2017

72' Substitution: Vitinho comes on for Brenner, as the latter has to be stretchered off due to an injury.

18:29 (IST)7 OCT 2017

67' Lincoln is played through in acres of space behind the Spain defence. There was so much space that eve he thought that he was off side. Neither the flag, not the whistle came into the equation.

18:25 (IST)7 OCT 2017

66' Torres weaves himself inside, from the right flank, to the edge of the box, cuts inside, and plays a chipped-through ball, only to find out that nobody made the run.

18:22 (IST)7 OCT 2017

63' Yellow card: Alan

18:21 (IST)7 OCT 2017

61' CHANCE! Abel Ruiz is played through from the half-way line, on the counter, and the Spain forward dashes with the ball towards the Brazil box. However, he was at too tight an angle, and goalkeeper Brazao had his angles covered.

18:19 (IST)7 OCT 2017

58' Torres is weaving and maneuvering himself through a plethora of bodies on the right flank, but is finally tackled, as he goes down, holding his leg and wincing in pain. Referee waves "play on".

18:15 (IST)7 OCT 2017

55' Curling corners seem to be troubling Brazil's Brazao. They get three straight corners in that manner, and Brazao finally saves a half volley among a flurry of legs, to end this spell.

18:13 (IST)7 OCT 2017

54' Spain get a free kick on th right wing, which they take very quickly. However, a Brazil defender was able to get his foot on the low cross, sending it out for a corner.

18:11 (IST)7 OCT 2017

51' Spain have come out with a lot of intent in the second half, hogging the possession of the ball. Torres again finds himself on the right wing and whips in yet another cross for Abel Ruiz. However, Halter halts that attack by intercepting that cross with a headed clearance.

18:06 (IST)7 OCT 2017

47'  Torres is in the thick of things yet again. He whips in another cross from the right, but it is too far from any of the Spain attackers.

18:04 (IST)7 OCT 2017

And the players are back out on the pitch, as Spain get the proccedings underway in the second half.

17:50 (IST)7 OCT 2017

HALF TIME! That has been an enthralling half of football, between two giants of the game. While Spain dominated the early exchanges, Brazil came back well into the game, and stamped their authority over it. The Paulinho goal is seure to have changed the half-time talk in both the dressing rooms.

17:48 (IST)7 OCT 2017

45'+1 GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!!! PAULINHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! The man who has been pulling the strings so far, now gets on to the end of a wonderfully chipped pass from Marcos Antonio, and volleyed it into goal.

17:45 (IST)7 OCT 2017

43' Great determination by Brazil to close Spain down high up the pitch. The ball is passed back to Spain keeper Fernandez. However, Brazil forward Lincoln charges at the Spain keeper like a battering ram, managing to block Fernandez's clearance. Thankfully for Spain, the ball rebounded off Lincoln's body towards the throw line, and not at goal.

17:40 (IST)7 OCT 2017

40' Torres jinks past a defender again and sprints forward on the right flank. He whips in a cross, but it is beyond any of the forwards in the box.

17:39 (IST)7 OCT 2017

37' Brazil may be dominating the proceedings, but Spain have also had their moments. A mazy run by Torres dazzles the crowd, here, in Kochi, as he dribbles past three defenders, and manages to pass it to one of his teammates. Nothing comes of it, in the end, though.

17:36 (IST)7 OCT 2017

34' Matieu Jaume suddenly pulls up on the pitch, and asks for medical assistance. It seems that his contribution in this match, at least, is over, as he limps off in tears.

17:33 (IST)7 OCT 2017

32' That goal has given Brazil the momentum they needed. Spain, on the other hand, seem to have lost all their early impetus, as Paulinho keeps making inroads with his passing.

17:26 (IST)7 OCT 2017

26' GOL GOLGOLGOLGOLGOLGOLGOLGOLGOLGOLGOLGOL GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!!!!!!!! Lincoln levels things up for Brazil!! Brenner made a move into the left side of the Spain box, dummied a Spain defender, and passed it inside the box to Lincoln, who did well to turn and shoot. And, thus, we are back at level terms, ladies and gentlemen!

17:25 (IST)7 OCT 2017

24' Paulinho plays and aerial through ball to Wesley, who breaks into the right side of the box, and tries to cross it in. However, his miscued cross went dangerously close to goal.

17:22 (IST)7 OCT 2017

22' Alan breaks free on the right, dummies a defender to turn outside, and pulls the trigger. However, the angle was too tight, and Brazao made an easy save.

17:21 (IST)7 OCT 2017

18' CHANCE! Brazil are closing down high up the pitch, and that results in Paulinho making an interception just outside the box. He pulled te trigger immediately, but Spain keeper Fernandez parried it right at one of he Brazil attackers, who had no time to react, as the ball trickled over the goalline, off his feet. The robound wouldn't have counted anyway, as he was flagged off side.

17:18 (IST)7 OCT 2017

16' There seems to be  a bit of confusion here. Moukhliss may have gotten his name on the scoresheet, but replays suggested that it was Brazil defender Wesley, who tapped it in.

17:16 (IST)7 OCT 2017

15' Finally, Brazil seem to be slowly growing into the game. The have kept the lion's share of the possession in the last few minutes, with Paulinho pulling the strings from the middle of the park.

17:13 (IST)7 OCT 2017

10' Despite going 1-0 down, Brazil have failed to show the attacking intent in the opening exchanges. Their passes, at certain times, have been played at walking pace.

17:06 (IST)7 OCT 2017

5' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!! Mohamed Moukhlis taps it into goal to make it 1-0 for Spain, inside 5 minutes! Ferran Torres found himself with some space on the right flank, and fizzed in a low cross to Moukhlis, who tapped it into the goal, beyond the flailing arms of Brazil keeper Gabriel Brazao. This match is off to a cracker!
