Chennai City's next home game is in March on the 5th as they go away to play Aizawl FC next on 25th February. Lajong return to the comforts of their home and play Mohun Bagan on 25th February as well.

Chennai City end their home stretch with a defeat after a win and a draw in their first two games under Soundararajan.

Charles was hardworking for the hosts, but he didn't get enough support up front and he was ultimately isolated.

For Shillong Lajong, Isaac Vanmalsawma continues to have a fantastic season contributing the assist for Pena's opener and scoring a fabulous second from a free-kick. Yuta Kinowaki was unflappable with the ball at his feet and it was he who started Lajong's comeback into the game by dominating midfield.

The breakthrough for Shillong Lajong was given by Fabio Henrique Pena in the first half, giving them a half-time lead.

Second half goals from Isaac, Bipin and Dicka put the game beyond reach for the hosts before Amiri grabbed a late consolation goal to make sure Chennai City registered on the scoreboard.

Shillong Lajong have done the double over Chennai City with a comprehensive 4-1 win here. A strong second half showing from the visitors left the hosts bruised and beaten. They really couldn't mount a comeback after that as the deficit was too large. Shillong Lajong clearly the better side on the day and deserved victors.

89' - Finally Chennai City find the back of the net. Ganesh marauds forward down the left, collects a pass from Prasanth who has come into the game, and cuts it back into the box. The ball just eludes Charles, but Kaith's effort to collect the ball sees it fall to Amiri, who has an easy tap-in from close range.

87' - Effort on goal for Chennai City. Charles with a powerful shot after swivelling and receiving a pass from Tank. It fizzes wide of the keeper's post.

84' - The outstanding Yuta Kinowaki finally leaves the field, only through injury. It was probably the only way Chennai City could see his back for he's been briliant in midfield. Rocus Lamare comes on in his place.

How this game has turned?

This was a one-goal game as we started the second half and it stayed close till the hour mark. Isaac's free-kick really opened the gates after that with three goals scored by Lajong in a 15 minute period.

It's another GOAL!

80' - And it is not for the home side. The scoreline is getting wider as Lajong make it 4-0. Dicka on the scoresheet as he charges down on a counter, finds space in the middle and beats Karanjit with a well-placed shot. He's even got a jiggle going to celebrate.

Lajong are really turning the screws here and Chennai City have no answers. It's 4-0 to Shillong Lajong!

77' - Tank tries to run onto another ball played by Denson, but the Brazilian's touch is heavy and the keeper collects. Lajong break immediately and Dicka finds Bipin down the left and the winger cuts in onto his right foot and deposits the box in the top right corner. No chance for Karanjit! 3-0 to Lajong!

73 minutes on the clock and it is Shillong Lajong who lead 2-0. This was the final scoreline when the two teams played earlier in Shillong. Will it be a repeat of the same?

70' - Charles is still running his heart out and he plays in Tank on a through ball. He is surrounded by two defenders, but for some reason he decides to cut back and it's easy for the defenders to get stuck in.

Charles is getting increasingly isolated up front for Chennai City and it is going to take a mammoth effort to get back in this one.

65' - Isaac strikes! It was a dangerous position and the Lajong midfielder takes full advantage with a beautifully taken effort that beats Karanjit Singh to his left. Fantastic free-kick.

65' - Lajong get a free-kick right down the middle, just outside the D. Isaac is surveying the situation.

61' - Charles and Tank with a nice 1-2 which releases Tank down the left, but he goes for a rather extravagant 'rabona' cross that is easy for the defender to get across and block. Nothing substantial off the resultant corner for the hosts.

59' - Charles' run fashions a good chance for Chennai City after his run. Denson gets the ball to Tank whose powerful strike is blocked by a diving Lajong defender.

The drum beats inside the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium have picked up pace and are going up tempo, but their side is still struggling to impose themselves once again on the game.

52' - Chennai City use the opportunity to make changes. Tank replaces Nandhakumar and Soosai Raj comes on for Edwin Sydney. Both of Chennai City's wide players have been replaced.

Chennai City players are already in position, rightfully so, as they will be eager to get back in the game. Lajong would like to continue from their position of strength and try and take a two-goal lead.

It's been a very good football match so far with Chennai City shading the first half and Shillong Lajong finishing it strongly, wresting the momentum to their corner.

Lajong coach Singto's move has worked like a charm. Knowing he needed height to combat Ravanan and Echezona in Chennai City's defence, he brought on Pena, much taller than Lalmuanpuia. Payoff!

39' - The substitute breaks the deadlock. Off the resulting free-kick for the foul on Kinowaki, Pena rises magnificently from dead centre in the box to head in Isaac's wonderful delivery. Another assist for Isaac!

Bipin is raiding with more regularity now down the left as Lajong are stepping up the pressure

Yuta Kinowaki and Isaac are dropping deep to initiate attacks for the visitors. Lajong have come into the game more as the half has worn on.

32' - Substitute Pena shows good technique to strike a bouncing ball from outside the box, but its over the bar

29' - Charles has once again got the better of his man and Lajong are forced to foul him. Amiri plays a delicious ball from the resulting set-piece, but Denson doesn't attack it well enough.

25' - Lajong create a very good chance with Bipin crossing the ball into the box from the left. Debabrata has a misstep and is on the ground like a turtle on it's back, but Echezona is around to clear the danger before a Lajong player can get to it.

23' - Charles is spinning around defenders like a top! Another brilliant run from the Brazilian sees Edwin get the ball and the winger's ball in is good. Kaith wins the battle in the air with Charles.

20' - Charles is sandwiched between two defenders and yet he manages to win the header. The Lajong defence recovers quickly though to retrieve the ball.

Can Lajong take advantage of Chennai City's veterans?

Chennai City's defence is veteran-heavy. It might mean they have more experience, but they are also slower. Can Lajong's pacy forwards and wingers take advantage?

As we complete 15 minutes on the clock, Chennai City have fashioned more opportunities. Shillong Lajong need to get some control in midfield with their star men.

15' - Amiri displays superb touch to bring down a ball from Das, turn his defender and get into the box. He charges at the keeper, but his final shot is way off target.
