As Day 7 of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games progresses, India will be looking to continue what has been a good run in the competition so far. Next event is Badminton Men's Singles Round of 32.
India will be represented by Kidambi Srikanth in his first match in this event and will be taking on Aatish Lubah of Mauritius.
Kidambi Srikanth is presently World No.2 and this should be an easy win for him. He failed to leave a mark at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. He has grown a lot as a player and gained plays with much more maturity now. Kidambi Srikanth is certainly one of the favorites to go all the way to the Finals of the Men's Singles.
Day 6 did not bring too many medals for India. However, it did bring progression as many Indian athletes find themselves in potential medal positions. Heena Sidhu claimed the only gold for India on Day 6 in the Women's 25m Pistol. The Indian Men's & Women's Hockey team both qualified for the Semifinals.
India will be hoping Day 7 of the Commonwealth Games 2018 is just as successful as the previous days.
