THIS IS INDIA'S FIRST BADMINTON MEDAL FROM THE CWG 2018

THIS IS PONNAPPA'S FIFTH MEDAL FROM THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES AND SIKKI'S SECOND!!!!

Ponnappa has won a medal in women's doubles in three consecutive Commonwealth Games. She adds this bronze to her gold (2010) and silver (2014). She won the last two with Jwala Gutta.

Ashwini now has the rare distinction of having all three coloured medals from the CWG - gold, silver and bronze.

As for Sikki, this is her first women's doubles medal from the CWG. This is Sikki's debut at the CWG.
