Day 3 of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games is underway with India claiming another medal in weightlifting through Sathish Shivalingam. There has been progress in other sports as well, with Srihari Nataraj qualifying for the semifinals of the 50m backstroke event. Indian women's Table Tennis team also headed to the semifinals after they won 3-0 against Malaysia.

Boxing has been one of India's main events in the past years when it comes to medals and so far has been doing well in Gold Coast as well. On Day 1, Manoj Kumar won in his weight category, and Naman Tanwer & Amit winning on Day 2.

Manoj Kumar returns to the ring on Day 3 as he takes on Tanzania's Kassim Mbundwike in the Men's 56 Kg Round-of-16. Kumar easily won his first bout in the competition against Osita Umeh of Nigeria and will look to continue his march towards Gold on the third day of the games.
