Boxing has been India's most promising sports in terms of medal count. Boxers Have been making the nation proud for a long time. At the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games as well, most of the boxers have progressed further into the competition, hoping to win a medal in their respective weight categories.

One name which has been parallel to Indian Boxing for years now is that of M.C. Mary Kom. Mary Kom's has won a lot throughout her career and holds an impressive list of accolades. She won a Bronze medal at the London Olympics in 2012. She has also won medals in Asian Games in 2010 and 2014. Looking at the major international events, Mary Kom has had a podium finish in 20 of those.

Mary Kom will be looking to add to her already impressive list of accolades a Commonwealth medal as well. She will begin her journey into the tournament at the Quarterfinals stage on Day 4 of the games.
